Saturday afternoons wont be the after this season ends and Jeff Sterling quits sky.
I think it has a lot to do with the mass sackings of the old pros to get in a fresh bunch and a younger audience

Don't watch it much anymore as i don't think the "new" pundits add anything to the show.
Gonna miss Jeff though.

Yeah last season with the games spread out over the weekend I rarely watched it this season the only draw to me was Jeff and Paul. The new people just don't have the chemistry. But guessing they are aiming it at people younger than me.

I know this isn't PC, but these female soccer pundits that are now everywhere, are totally spoiling the show. Its the same on all the channels.

I tend to agree with that.
Some of them - Alex Scott in particular - are very good but not all of them are there strictly on merit imho.

Actually I think it might be illegal to say this.
Agree though. Aside from Michelle Owen, Emma Hayes and Laura Woods, the rest are generally poor.
Think Soccer Saturday will be better for Jules replacing Jeff myself.

Everyone in this forum is in the Stone Age or what?
How many former footballers have had roles as pundits and been absolutely crap. Not even knowing half the players on foreign teams. No insight. Inarticulate. But they played for a big team and have a good agent so they get the gig.
But all women should be banned from being pundits because some are a not that great and inhibit the matey banter? Even though you've named several who you actually think are quite good.

everyone? 5 live seems to be full of old sods who just moan about VAR, and struggle with the rules. That one denied a clear goal scoring opportunity, but the other was a worse foul... there is no consistency... VAR is ruining the game. Serously fk off into retirement the lot of you.
He got sent off because it was a clear goal scoring opportunity, not because the foul was worse, not because of VAR and it wasn't inconsistent. It is like you know this deep down, but come out with the other bollocks because that is what grumpy old blokes do; and you haven't spent a second doing any research, why would you, you played the game 20 years ago.
Pity Alex Scott can't do everything. Bah humbug.

I think you may have misread. Nobody has stated that all women should be banned.

Where’s nirvana when we need a few bon mots?
Fair points made about the lazy, unresearched, smug old-timers who seem to think that the fact they played the game last century means that their opinions are unchallengeable.
I don’t watch a great deal of the pre & post-match coverage these days, but I do listen to Five 5 a lot. Am I allowed to dislike Karen Carney’s contributions due to the fingernails-on-blackboard effect of her voice?

Lawrenson is easily the pundit that needs to be put out to grass far more than any other male or female. Should have gone gracefully when Hansen did from the beeb.

It is just the referring to female pundits as one homogeneous entity as if they are all the same and say the same things because they are women.
Much like male pundits. Some female pundits are very good, some are ok and some are bad.
I still don't know why they are spoiling the show. What part of the football watching experience are they spoiling exactly?

As Bergeroo says, there are good and bad commentators/experts of both sexes. There was a terrible woman on a few weeks ago (no idea who) who popped in for a bit of football cliche bingo, so it definitely isn't just men who can spoil it.
