I wish they would show the whole series in the one night in real-time I think I could keep myself up to watch it

Heh, me and the missus almost did this with the first four boxsets ... you just keep thinking, "I'll watch one more episode then get to bed", and before you know it, it's 6am.

Having to watch this series one episode per week feels like we're living in the dark ages. Cheesy
Up to episode 7 at the mo ... another episode tomorrow!!

I have been downloading them from the US.

Most people here are talking about Season 5, which started on Sky last night.

However, I too, like you Flushy, have been downloading them from the US. The number of people doing this for 24 in this country is relatively large. I assume this is the reason that the series started on TV here only 4 weeks after beginning in the US, rather than forcing us to wait for months (like we have to for Lost and Desperate Housewives). In this day and age of satellites and internet though, I see no reason why Sky couldn't show it the day after it was broadcast in the US - surely they're only harming their own viewing figures by delaying the broadcast?

I totally agree. Four weeks is definitely an improvement, but let's face it ... with this kind of super-addictive show (where you just GOTTA know what happens next) four weeks might as well be four years.

IMO series 1 and 3 were ahead of the other two.

Although series 5 is shaping up well!

I know this is an old thread, but thought I would use it.

Did anyone see Keither Sutherland on Jonathan Ross last night?   They are making a 24 film.   I hadn't heard anything about this before. Is this old news?

I have still to see series 5.  From the clips last night, it looks good.  I will wait a few months untill the box set comes out.

Anyone else notice that halfway through series 4, everyone who wasn't caucasian was a baddie and everyone who was caucasian was a goodie.

How on earth they got away with that for 12 episodes I don't know.

Maybe they just said, look we've had a black President. Now we have enough PR points to go ahead and make all the baddies brown this year.

Too late Jane - his Royal Fishness is sat right next to me. Drooling at the thought of his little Children's TV show.

Apparently the next series might be shot in England too.

Brown baddies were topical - they were the baddies du jour. 24 did get a bit of stick for all the brown baddies, but if you're basing your programme about a threat from a Middle-Eastern based terrorist group who would you cast as the terrorists? Scandinavians? Eskimos?

It's noticeable that in the latest series they've steered clear of any controversy - all the baddies are white.

I'm with them on the middle eastern types being cast as terrorists. (Although I'd keep an eye on those pesky Eskimoes)

It just made me laugh when one of the two African Americans working at CTU turned out to be bent.

At around about the halfway point...

Number of black good guys 1
Number of white bad guys 1

Neither one had a lot of screen time.

To be fair, a lot of the actions commited by the 'goodies' hardly portray them in a ethically sound way.

btw, the actor playing the President is doing a brilliant job.
