Recently Ive been playing STT's on crypto with quite a bit of success (generally at least top 3) but when I try and convert my game to a MTT it just goes to pot and I find myself being eliminated early doors!! I play a tight aggressive game in both but it just dosent seem to work out........... I would be interested to hear how other blondittes approach STT's v's MTT's??

I just never seem to be able to get started in these online MTTs, I still haven't figured out why. I've had some success in the 6 handed MTTs i've played though. Oddly enough in the blonde tourney I seemed to be going nicely and able to build stack with no pressure from the blinds. Maybe with a shorter clock and less starting chips i should gamble more early on?

I find the same thing Bongo, I will wait a couple of 10 of 15 min levels for a hand..............not get one...........then Im short stacked.........then Im moved to a table where everyone else has at least trebled through! ARGGHH then its all in on the first half hand I get. Sometimes I think "ok so I will play loose when the blinds are small and see if I can hit a couple of flops" but when I try this I just end up being the short stack even faster! Played two hands in the blonde tourney, a limp with s00ted junk and all in with A-Q! ha ha

That's what happens to me. The other option is to steal but then I always get called so that doesn't work

i used to play mtt and whether it was novicey i`m not sure but i`d play fairly loose initially and then mixing it later on and it seemed to work with a decent amount of money finishes. I then started playing stt and my game changes subtly to slightly more passive aggressive with improving results. trouble is when i went back to play mtt it just seemed as if my game plan even when varying it no longer played out. i`m putting it down to the fact that i overthink the plays on mtt instead of just playing the way i used to. oh and AA still doesnt hold up in either

I think that I do better in STT's because I feel that Im never usually that bad off (stack wise) even If I get down to 600 from a start of 1000, there is in most cases only a few players with 1500 or more so I know that a double through will see me right back in it. (Do you generally find that in STT's theres one player with all the chips and the rest is shared around?)
In an MTT if I get to 800 from a start of 1500 I feel like im in trouble!

Last night on a STT I was playing I saw a player take 3rd when he didnt play a hand for what seemed like hours! AND he would of got second had I of called a two way all in with an Q-A-Q board when I was holding A-rag!! (I folded and a pair of pocket FOURS knock out the player in fourth)

In a stt you have to beat/outlast 7 players to make the money, in a mtt its more like 200 or more, sure they are different games, but mostly its just harder cos there are more runners and more bullets to dodge

I approach the STT and MTT's in pretty much the same way, start off very tight hoping for some good cards and an early double-through against some fish. I don't think there is a "right way" to play either, it depends on the table. For example, I played a STT of PL Omaha and everyone was playing very tight, so I changed gears and attacked every pot I could which worked well and ended up winning the table in about 40 minutes. In MTT's I personally like to double up as early as possible whilst some fish are still around, this can lead to some early knockouts, but I'd rather have the chips than be holding on as I'm blinded and anted down. Always identify the weakest player at your table and go after them as much as possible. Granted, it doesn't always work but 3k in chips is usually good enough to take you close enough to the money that one more double up will get you there.
