I am fairly new to the site and need a little help.  I will be in the Nottingham area in a couple of months and don't know anything about the area.  Can someone advise a good place to play some no limit hold em and a decent hotel near?  I am guessing I will have to apply for a membership before visiting?  Many thanks.

Gala is the only place that has a poker room at the moment. There is a Novotel next door and the strathdon thistle hotel about 100 yards away.

Hope this helps

The card room in Nottingham is at the Gala Casino on Maid marion way. there are tourneys everynight except saturdays ranging from £10 limited rebuy beginners nights to monthly £100 unlimited rebuys. I popping in when you get to nottingham and collecting a monthly schedule from the card room. if you tell me when you  are due to arrive I'll tell you the first tournament and you can take it from there (ie if you arive in Notts Sunday morning, play the £30 freeze in the afternoon and pick up[ a schedule.

Hotels, don't know really. there's plenty in walking distance. perhaps google hotels - nottingham - maidmarion way

Many thanks for the input.  I will arrive late on a Monday, around 5pm.

Any idea about the buy-ins and limits (or no limit)?
