you have 10,000 chips, blinds are 600-1200. second shortest stack, eight handed.

you are first to act

you pick up pocket 10s, both black suited

you raise the pot, it being PLHE

You get one caller after a long dwell, who has about 20,000 chips. Solid player. Likely to have a strong hand.

The flop comes

You are first to act

a) Check?
b) All In?

Thanks for the advice on the previous one........

Think I would be looking for a better spot than here. he has twice the chips you do and will probably put you in with rag Ace, flush draw or even a mid pair of his own. also if it's a flush draw your 10h is gone as an out (unless you make quads.

Pass

i would have brought it in for about 3000, not the full pot which is 4200.
the tens are easier to get away from with less than a third of your stack committed.
but with 4200 plus another 4200 & 1800 in blinds, your getting a good price to fire your second, & last barrel.
not a great spot, but you do have first to speak/represent position & who knows, maybe this guy can pass a marginal ace....

the guy wont call that bet pre flop with a marginal ace and then fold if he hits his Ace

your only hope is that he had a hand like Qk or KJ.

I think you push based on who you're playing and your likely table image.

If the guy is a strong player then he's not going to have called you with a weak ace. If he has a strong ace then why hasn't he put you in right there ? You're both short enough for the initial pot to be well worth winning. My guess would be he has some marginal pocket pair and wants to see a flop without an ace before getting the rest in.

He'll also very likely believe that you have the ace, as you've tended to have a tight image when I've played you.

You get one caller after a long dwell, who has about 20,000 chips.

If it took you a little under two years to act first after the flop, I'd like to know how LONG a "long dwell" preflop was...lol!
