On January 6th-7th at the Vic there will be an event called The Grosvenor Champion of Champions, sponsored by Blue Square.  It will be a NL Holdem Freezeout with a £100,000 prize pool, put up entirely by the sponsors.

There will be no direct buy-in and no satellites for it.  There are a few different ways to win entry to this event, but the main ones are:

- Win any Grosvenor Festival event in 2006 (including those that have already been).
- Win one of the monthly poker leagues on Blue Square Poker

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS UPDATE

Bad news I'm afraid. The powers that be have decided not to run with this in 2007.  When I announced it at the end of last month it was all but agreed and I had been told to start informing people of it ahead of Luton's Springfest. It is something that I sincerely hope they will run with for the following year and will be doing my best to push for it.

I aplogise for any disappointement this may have caused to anyone who won a seat for this at the Luton festival or who subsequently believed that they had qualified as a result of winning a seat at a Grosvenor festival earlier in the year.
