There's clearly been a lot of action on JP's table, in spite of the aggressive chip leader being moved near the start of play.  Mark Bartlog, for example, is OUT, and a hefty stack remains in front of Robert Garfield.

Just now, Tim Flanders raised 2,600 from the cutoff, and JP called in the big blind.  He immediately moved all-in on the flop, and Tim passed showing  .  He also mentioned, "I thought you were going to do that whatever came on the flop... well, maybe as long as there was no Ace."

There seems a huge groundswell of support here for sloppy in particular, but also Smithers Whiten, J P Kelly, & Matt Tyler.

Whoever wins this will deserve it, there has not been a single complaint about the structure or the clock, indeed not one bad word against Grosvenor Luton.

The only bad stuff actually went down in the Car Park, where John Hewston had his car vandalised yesterday, & Mick Fletcher tiold me that his car had been attacked too - window smashed, & Sat Nav stolen. Such is society these days.......

Luton car park setup is awful - if you've won and have to make that walk back via the alley round the side/rear of the casino, always handy to take a friend with you....

And my Hero Of The Day - Snoopy!  Holding on to his chips like they're glued to the table.  At least that's the impression I got from my 5 minute sojourn.

Is it just me, but looking at this last photo that jen posted, snoopy's stubble seems to be sprouting like the play-dough barbers shop guy as the tournament progresses. Must be the excitement. Someone pass him an electric shaver....

We can sort out the % in vegas mate don't worry. Just dont forget me when handing out your "golden" %s. I am only playing the series this year as a live event and I am not taking it lightly ( I am even giving up smoking before I go out there). Drop me an email when you get chance Julian as there are some other Vegas things I could do with having a chat to you about.

five minutes after this there is an early position limper , i am in the cutoff and find K K (the best hand i had all day)..i pick up my chips and count out the amount to raise , whilst i am doing this the button and small blind call....WHOA WHOA i shout..the dealer hadnt noticed that i had cards and a ruling was called for...i was then told my hand was dead..wtf...

wtf indeed. was a reason given for the ruling?
how can your hand be dead because 2 others act out of turn?

vul booder

It was claimed that Booder "hid his cards" which he most deffo did NOT. The "bet line" in some parts of the tables is quite narrow, & Boo was sat, half hidden, behind the dealer in Seat 10. He was the Button, & the SB in Seat 1, the other side of the Dealer never realised Booder was in the hand, & "made up", the BB checked because the SB had made up - the domino effect took over - and then the Ruling was requested. It was ruled that the SB & BB had both "acted" (the BB had checked) & a mid position player pre-Boo had limped, so "action had taken place".

So, in effect, Boo did nothing wrong AT ALL - it was the SB who acted out of turn, NOT Boo hiding his cards, that caused the problem.

But Boo took it like the big man he is. blonde are well proud of him.

So if Boo was the button and hadn't put any chips into the pot, he still has to make action.  They can't just say because the SB and BB had acted, thats terrible.   Boo still has to act, b4 any action can take place .

Terrible ruling!!

the problem is the Grosvenor car park is too small for the casino when it is anything more than moderately busy

this leaves everyone else taking the horrible walk though the alleyway to Sainsbury's car park

Good news though is that Luton Gorsvenor is moving to a new build near J 10, on two floors with a huge card room spanning one floor

Hopefully no car park worries there

When the magistrates finally approve it that is, it threw back the application once on the grounds that a casino there would attract undesirable types for the residents nearby!!!

Couple of counts as the blinds raise to 800 - 1,600:

Blondes first, everyone else in a minute Wink

Joe Grech    14,000
Ben Grundy  70,000
JP Kelly        56,000
Matt Tyler    31,000
Snoopy       24,000 - "I made a bad call - battle of the blinds, with  suited I raised. Flop A A J, and he had A7.  I could have folded, I think."

Oh dear oh dear - I Bokked Sheriff, & now he's OUT......

We also forgot Nick Smithers Whiten, & it was in fact Smithers that busted Sheriff.

So, Sheriff out - bad luck bud, but Smithers doubles up.

blondes are everywhere, my apologies to those I forget.

that carpark is always going to be a problem on a saturday/sunday nights. once the supermarket closes the security go home and the local hoolies know that most of the cars left there are going to be casino customers who are unlikely to return to their cars until the early hours

I'd just like to add my thanks to all at Luton, they work their socks off to make it a great festival week, it's a pleasure and a privilege to play there
