having run many a half marathon in my time and was planning on running both the berlin and london marathon the year i broke my back i know how hard it is to get to run these events and for every jade goodey that doesnt prepare properly some other person who would of treated it seriously misses out not sure what the numbers like turned away are now but i think its something like only 1 in 10 get to run

This is in no way meant to be offensive ironside and if you are offended I will remove it immediately. Was just wondering as you were a bit of an athlete before your injury have you or do you participate in any wheelchair sports?

i have tried many sports on a come and try basis and i used to train at basketball every saturday but its impossible to do anything but atheltics up this far north as any other sport you need someone to train with (ie i would of loved to get into badmington or tennis) but after i broke my neck (2nd spinal injury) and became diabetic i lost intrest even going to the pub puts me out of breathe now although i have always thought about doing the marthon i am ashamed to admit it i would be lucky to do the 1500 meters now
