you know...100s of TV channels (fragmentation), national newspapers in multiple ownerships...OK/Hello magazines etc all living for this type of tittle tattle


Pre Profumo in 1963 this sort of thing must have gone on but how much of it went undiscovered because the press didn't have the resources or the outlets to disseminate it

Think of what happened in the 50's ...Prince Philip was off having an affair very openly in Greece... all the newspapers of the world apart from the UK reported it.

It was censored here, completely and utterly - in fact still not spoken about widely here.

Race back to Di and Chuck and their flings, and how the newspapers grabbed onto that and changed the way the public perceive and treat the monarchy.

(btw I am no royalist)

The media controls and melds our thoughts, even if we are clever enough to see it being done .. to a certain extent.

Case inpoint.. Bush mentioning Iraq in the same sentence as 911 to the American populace - they now think Iraq was to blame for it. Ok using Yanks is easy LOL.. but the process is the same.

Paedos and peadatricians mixed up by chavsand thrown into a frenzy....

Why do you think that the politicians court the newspapers soopenly - why did the Sun change alegiance during the last election?

Fascinating subject.
