Jen busted me in the third hand of this afternoon's Gutshot tournament.

With starting blinds of 25-25 (starting stack = 1500,) I took a limp in middle position with  .

The board came down  Two Clubs three clubs . Jen chucked 100 chips in. (There may have been one caller before me, I forget.) I re-raised to 500 chips; Jen went all-in. I thought for about 10 seconds then called, and as I feared my flush was outkicked by Jen's  , meaning I didn't even have any outs to the straight flush.

I figure percentage-wise it's about 2% for someone to flop a Jack-flush and another player to have flopped a higher flush, so I think I did the mathematically correct thing.

Ah well, sorry I didn't quite get a chance to introduce myself, but it was fun whilst I was there.  Cool

Hope you went on to win it.

Isn't it like 100 to 1 to flop a flush?
For 2 people to flop a flush the odds are ridiculously miniscule, alot less than 2% I believe.

Hands like   or  three diamonds are perfectly possible holdings too.

Limping with jack,7 is ridiculous, jack,5 however is an obligatory raise.

Actually, she did go on to win it... :-)

At one point when the blinds were something like 600/1200 she was down to 350... what a comeback.

I particularly remember this great fold: blinds are 350/700 and she raises my big blind to 2000.  I re-raise another 2400 all-in.  She thinks for a while and passes deuces.  I had kings!  How did she know!!?

Eventually I came second... we were heads-up, I move in with A6, she called with J6 & hit a flush... what a fish!
