In Event 16's expensive, but potentially lucrative $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha Freezout, Nottingham Nick, who is actually from Windsor, pulled out a 6th place finish for a smashing $102,460.

With just 214 players putting up the dosh, one could suggest this to be a decent, but not particulalry incedible feat, but, when considering the quality of that 214 strong field, it's can only be considered a wonderful achievement from the one onliners call Gwibbo.

With the likes of Padraig Parkinson, Kirill Gerasimov, Dave Colclough, Ben Roberts, Patrik Antonius, Daniel Negreanu, and Barry Greenstein all fighting for that $360,659 1st prize, hitting that final table should warrant much respect, and to walk away with a six figure sum is just amazing.

On that final table, Nick had to contend with WPT Paris final tabler Thomas Wahlroos, renowned pro Hasan Habib, and possibly the game's most underrated player, Lee Watkinson, who finished up the eventual winner.

Nick was eventually taken out by 4th place finisher Rafi Amit, whose A-K-J-2 on a board of K-9-6-A-4 (2 pairs) beat the Brit's Q-J-J-T, thereby eliminating the Windsor man from the tournament.

Also running well are Roland De Wolfe (fresh off a WPT million dollar win at the Bellagio), and Marc 'Mr Cool' Goodwin (final table at the Monte Carlo Millions), who took 16th and 22nd spots respectively. Due to the top-heavy structure, they only scooped 16 and 12k, but it's good to see them reaching the money.

Well done to Nick, a genuinely top guy, but also a big thumbs up to Lee Watkinson of Long Branch, whose form seems to get better and better. The Allen Cunningham of 2006 perhaps? We'll just have to wait and see...
