Two words probably sum today up best - BRIAN WILSON. I was lucky enough to play 2 hours of poker next to him today. Well I say play, I mean watch. From the very 1st hand he ran over the table. He knocked a total of 18 players out of the event, me being one of them. It's my small blind and it is passed to me, I find Kh-9d and think I'm good, so I raise with the blinds at 75/150 and make it 500 to play. He does excactly what I expect him to and puts me all-in. I call he turns over the famous 7c- 4c and had me drawing dead after the flop. He hits 3 clubs and im gone. I've heard people say all sorts about him today, lucky, mad, unstoppable - the list goes on. Personally I think the best word to describe his play today without showing too much respect is simply, frightening. Unfortunatley for Brian, 7c-4c was to be his downfall. He raised under the gun with it on the final table only to be set all-in. Brian immeditatly said it is the toughest decision he has had to make at a poker table. At this point julian says it's 7-4 isnt it, to which Brian replied yeah and it's suited and then says CALL. There was disbelief at what he had called with but before he called he already put his opponent on A-Q or A-K and said 2 live cards. When the flop came with 2-5-6 he looked in good shape but unfortunately didnt improve.

One of his best quotes of the day was when he called a fairly big pre-flop raise with J-T and the other guy pushed for the rest of his chips when the flop was being dealt. Brian had caught a Jack on the flop and called and they held up. The guy said something along the lines of how can you call or that's a big call to which Brian replied and I quote, "Hey buddy, those aren't the worst 2 cards I've played today."

Anyway enough about Brian and on to Mr Thew. Congratultions to him on 2nd place in the $500 event. He tried to make a stand against Kathy after she raised when he limped so he pushed with J-4 and didnt improve against cathy's A-T and a short time after it was all over after Kathy made a great/rubbish??? call with 8-2 when the board was Q-8-3. A big thank you to Julian aswell as he has just paid for a late late dinner with his winnings.

What else has happened today?? I cant really remember to be honest. It's 5.35am and my brain is not working too well. I've met elblondie today. He played in the $200 omaha rebuy event and went quite deep but fell short of the final table.

I will let you know of anymore of the rookie's antics tomorrow, there is just too much to say but believe me, watching him play poker is very very entertaining.

Goodnight all.
