Here's James, looking like he's concentrating hard. Well, passing 8-5 off is a big decision...

They've had a 30-minute buffet break but are now back at the tables playing. We have lost one player so far, thingumybob he was called, a good friend of mateyboy and sonny jim.

Jason 'Dusty' Jones is still in. Apparently this is some kind of personal record.

Another player here today is Michael Punshon. Those of you who frequent the track may know of him. He's an on course bookie, has done a bit of TV work and is also an ex-poker dealer. He used to work at the Vic, amongst other places. Top drawer dealer by all accounts. Useful player too.

Last year's winner Ouday Hikary is also here. His victory last year was memorable because he pushed in blind on the final hand before the chip count and found a caller. His 3-5 offsuit liked the A-2-4 flop. His opponent, holding A-J, didn't. Tariq Aris was very annoyed though, as in this final hand coup Uday overtook him in chips and took down the trophy. Tariq had won the other event in the festival and wanted a second trophy for his mantlepiece.

35 left here. Fisher has just pushed Herbert off a pot with 8 high. Ian had a a house, but there were bigger ones out there. James showed and Ian is now wandering about restlessly, trying to calm down.

Martin Reeve has been knocked out by Roberto Romanello. Quad kings were good enough.

James Fisher has gone. He was low stacked and Paul Rawding took him out.

BTW Roberto's nickname is his finishing position in the main event of the WSOP this year, netting him $39,000.

Here's a pic of Tariq Aris and Martin Reeve, when they were both still in.
