it made me chuckle

Wickham was born in hereford, grew up in colchester, went to the reading academy, then ipswich town and then sunderland

no sign of any roots in south london

"the last four years have been a bit stop and start, its good to be coming home"

He has a Crystal Palace supporting Aunt that lives locally, if that counts Cheesy

might be worth loading up a lot of accounts.  Tomorrow is going to be really busy i would imagine with RP football pull out published.  There will be loads of ricks buried in there.  match bets/specials etc.  One of my fav days of the year.

Ahh, that's great news........

We are reasonably funded in most places, but if we need more, no worries, I'll auction off my wardrobe.

Tighty I know Fred normally is a fixed odds fellow but if you need any long term spin my account is at Fred's disposal.  Just PM if required.

p.s i thought norwich 9/2 to finish bottom was a really nice price.

They are both in for the same points with SPIN.  So if you think Norwich are a bet then Sunderland maybe should be upped to max bet £200 maybe at twice the price.  So many negatives for Sunderland for me.  Losing Wickham, Johnson court case about to start (he could easily be in jail in the next few weeks), gaffer doesn't really want to be there imo and it will be his last season surely as a gaffer (his wife was promised by him he would retire last year - can't imagine she is enjoying being located in the NE of England), Defoe only there because he hated the MLS and had nowhere else to go.  Can't see a great deal of positives.

NE of England is a very nice place to live.

Massively >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anywhere else I've lived for loads of reasons.

Agree completely.  I'm planning to retire in sedgefield when the time comes.  Geordie wife and Geordie parents although born in London.

What you think of NUFC top NE club at 1/2 with Choral?

Yuh, had never heard of them before they sponsored us. Also never known anyone sponsor two teams at the same time.

Saturday's Posh v C**bridge Chrissy Turner memorial belonged in a skip tbh.

Celtic rangers were routinely sponsored by the same firm for years because the sponsor couldn't afford to lose one half of glasgow who would snap boycott the firm if they sponsored the other side and not their side.  Tennants were a classic example of this years ago amongst others.

I think it is massive if you can bet it on credit and not have to tie your loot up for 9 months.  Obviously i am massively against Sunderland from previous posts but i can't see much downside in Newcastle at their spin quote.  If i could bet 1/2 on credit it would be a maximum for me but cash flow reasons and money management reasons for 9 months stop it being a maximum.

Interesting article on wickham. Think the author rights a lot of shite but a few gems in there.

Sunderland is surely whether dick can get rid of the culture there this season.

This is a great post and is what TFT was originally all about exposing info that the market doesn't know.  Great post Horsey.  I have no idea who the blogger is but the story totally stacks up over the past few years performance wise with Johnson with under age girls and the casino £50 notes in the air nonsense from a couple of Sunderland players at the xmas party in Aspers in Newcastle (that is just what the public has seen so god knows what has happened behind closed doors).  This has just tipped me over the edge and had a max bet on Sunderland at 9/4 to go down.  I can't possibly have a soon to be retiring foreign manager with no experience of the EPL ever sorting out this kind of culture in a northern club where EPL footballers spending power locally is even more incredible than in london or the South East.  I didn't know about the drinking culture at Sunderland when i put up the to finish bottom bet earlier but we should be having £400 at 9/4 on Sunderland to go down.  £400 at the current fred bankroll is a max bet (assuming we have a circa £8k bankroll) i think fred actually has more so it is comfortably within bank roll constraints although it might raise a few eyebrows from the boss.  I nearly put up a max at 9/4 earlier before i saw Horsey's thread.

I don't think Wickham leaving is going to change the drinking culture at Sunderland.  I really can't imagine he is the 'gazza' of the team causing the problem.

Has anyone bought the online copy of the racing post tomorrow?  Does it have the full 64 page football preview?  I don't mind paying for it online so i can review it earlier than the majority but i want to know if it has all 64 pages in full with all the data/specials markets in the same format as the paper copy.  I will still buy the paper copy tomorrow anyway because i love keeping it for a review.  Wouldn't mind buying it now online to get ahead of the game over a couple of pints in the pub if it has the football pull out page for page in full detail like the paper copy.

Also, think wonga sponsored a few teams at the same time last season, maybe still do. And McEwans lager too a few years ago maybe?

For what little difference it makes to a great looking bet, one imagines Dick Advocaat may of encountered some drinking culture during his 4 year spell in charge of Glasgow Rangers.

What sort of money does it cost per year to be the shirt sponsor of little rural teams like Cambridge & Peterborough?

Have to say, they've got some decent kit, look at these beauties.

PS - see the last photo - never realised what a nice looking ground London Road is.

Just read it - they are of a similar mind to TFT so far - have Sunderland bottom, Leicester 19th, Norwich 18th.

They have Watford at 16th.  They also don't like Swansea too much on the basis that their in game stats were bad last season so they might have just been "lucky" and first season without Bony.

They also like Saints and Palace.

in terms of working capital the bank is far smaller, and £400 is too big given requirements elsewhere

i've done what is still a sizeable bet in terms of the portfolio
