Blondepoker.com Waterford Winter Festival: Final Day

Morning all! We're back at the Woodlands, they've just this second resumed play, and we're hopeful of a swift and painless finish - there's been an exit already on the first hand. Superblondeite Jen Mason is on 315k after her last-hand outdraw with Nines v Tens last night, and is looking pretty good. Full player list and starting chip counts, and details of that exit, coming shortly...

So after two exciting, explosive days of poker, the starting field has been whittled down to 20 of the best ready to pick up arms, well chips anyway, and meet each other head on in the bloody, well arena of the felt.
There has been an exciting start to the day, we have already had several allins, so let me get you up to date with what's been happening.
I'll just tell you about the latest elimination first as the well known face of Collette "Smurf" Murphy has just called allin. She was relatively short and facing a raise from Ian Baitson and a reraise from Ian Whittey, she decided to call allin and Baitson passed...
Ian Whittey turned over the dominating
to Collette's
.
The flop came
giving Collette hope in the form of a gutshot...
"DIAMOND!" shouted Collette and she was rewarded with the
on the turn, giving her a flush draw and further outs...
The river came the
though, meaning
Collette
Murphy
is OUT in 18th place, winning 1,100 EUROS.
There are 2 other earlier eliminations to report on as well which are coming up...

Jay Danter just moved allin and was quickly called by Michael Trimby.
He turned over 2-2 and was glad to be coinflipping versus Trimby's A-K
A flop of A-Q-9 was bad news for him.
The Q on the turn almost sealed it and he picked up his coat and walked away from the table BUT
the 2 on the river was greeted with enthusiastic cheers and bellows from the gathered masses on the rail!
Danter retook his seat overjoyed at his double up and play continues...

Derek
Thorpe
has jsut been involved in a big pot with Rob Taylor. The chips went in preflop, although the exact manner how is unknown.
What is known is that once the cards were flipped over, Rob showed A-J, and Derek was overjoyed to see this as he had A-Q...
A flop of 6-7-2-7-8 changed nothing, meaning Derek doubles through courtesy of Rob...

Mem Tam, who started the day off fairly short has had a whirlwind start, doubling up, first off Nicky Powers, his 7-7 flipping successfully versus Nicky's A-T.
He then knocked out Maurice Slattery again showing he is the master of flips as his 4-4 held versus the A-5 of Slattery, meanng Slattery was out in 20th spot for 1,100 EUROS.
Also out in 19th spot was Pat Storan, whose heroic recovery yesterday in going from 7k to 150k was ended abruptly today, although details of his exit hand are scarce, he picks up 1,100 EUROS for his troubles also...
