Welcome to the stent club Graham.  You will feel better than ever in a few days.

Cheers Dave. I had one fitted in June 2004 and it made a huge difference to my feeling back then and it wasn't that one that was affected this time it's still working fine so the operation didn't hold any fears for me it was when they started talking about the possibility of bypass surgery that I started to get a little concerned but fortunately that was not the case.

I have arrived home safe and well and feel tired but good.

Firstly thank you all the your wishes and support it means a lot to know I have so many people rooting for me.

Secondly a big thank you to Lisa who kept in contact with me via text throughout the last few days and who I knew was keeping everyone updated. It was only TODAY that I found out who was actually texting me and had arranged for a sim to be sent to me.  As far as I am aware Lisa and I have never met and this just proves to me once again what a fantastic forum blonde is and has been for many members over the years.

So,to Lisa I would like to say publicly a very BIG THANK YOU.

I am now signed off for a minimum of 4 weeks (staturtory after a heart attack) and will return to Southampton on February 10 for one more stent to be fitted to the partially blocked artery and home the next day followed by one more week on the sick.

All in all the whole thing has been a success and the Sim arrived this morning before I left so I have it for my trip in February.

Thank you all.

Hello to the good people of blonde, here is my current predicament.
I am here in Southampton University Hospital having suffered a minor heart attack last Sunday in Guernsey. I was transferred here on Friday and at 6pm last night I underwent and angiogram and I assumed I would have a stent or 2 fitted and job done. Unfortunately the problem seems to be more serious than that so now I am back on the ward awaiting an MRI scan at some point this week and then any further procedures that may be required.

So here is my plea for help. Is there anyone In the Southampton area who could get me a PAYG SIM for an IPad as there is no wifi available here and my Guernsey plan roaming costs are astronomical and Roxanne and Daniel are still in Guernsey so it is proving to be difficult with little or no contact. It's so long since I have been here in the UK but I am thinking a PAYG sim with £30 loaded on it would be more than enough for the time I will be here. I HAVE the money here to pay so that's not a problem I would also need one of those pin things to access the sim holder.

I have posted this from my phone so hope it all makes sense and once it's posted I will turn of the internet so won't be able to access again

My contact number if anyone wants to get in touch is 07911 718844 text message is better than calling as you know what hospitals are like. Currently I am on cardio care short stay but I am certain I will be moved later today probably back to E ward.

Thank you in advance for reading this and for any help that is possible.

I'm very much like Mo on this one in that words fail me at the generosity of Rich for doing this and to the members for so generously supporting him (been here at blonde long enough now so I shouldn't be surprised at the support).

To give you some idea £135.00 equates to approx 9,855.00 Philippine Pesos which is equal to 197 cups of rice, not that we need to buy any rice as this is donated by local business's.

I haven't decided yet as how this money will be spent but I feel I would like to hold it until Christmas and make that time all the little bit more special for the kids. It will go along away to providing each of them a little gift when they come in on Christmas Day.

I still feel slightly embarrassed by all of this but from the bottom of my heart I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to you all.

I was lucky enough to have dinner with Liam one time in Cornwall when he was a guest of Des Wilson and then play against him in a friendly 6 handed home game. It was my absolute pleasure to meet him and he was a real gentleman.

RIP

I received a message from Rich two or three days ago telling me about this and until now I haven't responded because I genuinely don't know what to say other than thank you to what is a most generous offer which epitomises what blonde is all about - community spirit.

How about walking the coastal path of Cornwall?. Or at least part of it

If you want a really good quality meal head for Oliver's in the high street of Falmouth. You will probably need to book in advance but trust me well worth it. I worked with Kenny the proprietor/chef many years ago and he is exceptional. Another good restaurant with lovely views is The Cove at Maenporth beach just on the outskirts of Falmouth.
