Update.

Well the sim didn't arrive today or if it did it's lost in the hospitals internal system.

The better news is that Graham has returned from 90 minutes in theatre and having two stents fitted to the main artery which was completely blocked.
He'll need to return in a couple of weeks to have a stent fitted to the artery that was partially blocked.
I think he feels all in all it's been a good day.

Well I failed miserably. The SIm hasn't arrived and Graham is hoping to go home tomorrow. Sad
Sorry Graham. If I hadn't got involved someone closer may have had more success.

 The Sim arrived this morning.

Graham is booked on a flight back to Guernsey at 14.45 today. He's back on 10th Feb for the next operation.

I have arrived home safe and well and feel tired but good.

Firstly thank you all the your wishes and support it means a lot to know I have so many people rooting for me.

Secondly a big thank you to Lisa who kept in contact with me via text throughout the last few days and who I knew was keeping everyone updated. It was only TODAY that I found out who was actually texting me and had arranged for a sim to be sent to me.  As far as I am aware Lisa and I have never met and this just proves to me once again what a fantastic forum blonde is and has been for many members over the years.

So,to Lisa I would like to say publicly a very BIG THANK YOU.

I am now signed off for a minimum of 4 weeks (staturtory after a heart attack) and will return to Southampton on February 10 for one more stent to be fitted to the partially blocked artery and home the next day followed by one more week on the sick.

All in all the whole thing has been a success and the Sim arrived this morning before I left so I have it for my trip in February.

Thank you all.

Cheers Dave. I had one fitted in June 2004 and it made a huge difference to my feeling back then and it wasn't that one that was affected this time it's still working fine so the operation didn't hold any fears for me it was when they started talking about the possibility of bypass surgery that I started to get a little concerned but fortunately that was not the case.

UPDATE:

Tues 10th got the first flight from Guernsey to Southampton 07:15 and arrived Southampton hospital 08:45 waited in day room until 09:00 when one of the nurses came and done all the routine bits and pieces, height, weight, ECG, all the normal questions, cannula fitted and bloods taken.
2pm got moved to a bed and prepped for my op.

4.45pm Surgeon came to see me to tell me my op was cancelled due to other operations taking more time than expected. Promised me that I will be second on the list for Wednesday.

Wednesday 11th showered and prepped again by 7am and at 10:15 got taken to the theatre, 12pm all done and back on the ward all successful.
6.30pm now and I am up and about and all being well will fly home tomorrow.

The big difference this time thanks to Lisa and her kindness is that I have had internet connection which has been a massive help to Roxanne and I being able to keep in touch without racking up extortionate roaming charges.

THANK YOU LISA SO VERY MUCH
