Hows Boldie getting on these days after all that happened? Anyone hear from him or his missus?

It's been a long slog, but they're well.  He took a physical trainer course and found a new job, starting at the ground level with hopes of working his way up.  He has nothing to do with gambling in any form since and even struggled to keep in touch with the few of us initially for fear he'd get the bug back.  So far so good.

has he any intention of paying people back?

I've no idea.  Haven't asked him and don't intend to.  It's only £50.  Feel free to ask him yourself though.

Sigh.  He does smile folks, but for some reason he's decided the mug shot look is best for Movember.

Great stuff from Remembrance Day Tom thumbs up

Re Jane Elliot - she ran her experiment over here a few years ago for a documentary (on channel 4 I think). My memory is pretty hazy these days, but I recall the group acted rather differently to what she was used too. I'll have to dig it out and watch it again now I've remembered (if I don't forget again before tonight)

I just haven't had time to watch it yet.

Well, when I have had time I haven't remembered, and when I have remembered I haven't had time.

I stumbled across the one you're on about Claire while trying to find part one for Tom.  That's what I mistakenly posted here earlier. Ended up watching the entire series as well as other clips.

You'll definitely need spare time Tom.  I'd never heard of Jane Elliot before and without intending to, gg'd an entire morning watching her the other day.

Hiya Graham Smiley  I have an extension on my Chrome browser called Video Downloader that'll do the job.  You can get it here...

Today we're taking the dogs on a run with us for the first time.  Leads, legs and paws everywhere...this could get messy!  I'm hoping it works out and they enjoy it though because it'd be great to take them with me on a regular basis.  Fingers crossed.

In other news, I'm still off the smokes.  22 days down and £135 saved based on my old 15 a day habit.  It's made such a difference to the running!  I don't struggle with breathing near as much as I was (if at all) and vaping has definitely been a big help in kicking them.  Still losing weight since giving them up too which is nice.  I was worried it might start to creep back on, but nope. Bar a wee stint at Delboy's with delicious food and copious drink last week-end, it's been going down all the time.  YAY!

And last, but not least - our petition arrived safe and sound in America.  Jack kept track of it every step of the way from the minute it left our house.  Literally.     They'll send us an email once it's officially in the system and then I can ring my step-dad to see if we can speed up the process a bit.  He's got ties in a couple of the right places who hopefully might be able to knock a few months off the waiting time.  If they can help, they definitely will...but if not, not the end of the world.  We'll get there when we get there.

Cheers Lads and  @ mond and celtic!!!  My old workout routine was similar to yours which is why I can't fit into a wedding dress now without looking like the Stay Puff marshmallow.

Actually, I'm wrong.  That's part 1 of a different group study she did.  Sigh.

THIS is the correct part one of the class I'd posted originally...

Have you ever heard of Jane Elliot? She's a middle aged white American who does a special class on racism.  This is part two of "The Angry Eye" and I'd be interested to hear your take on her teaching...

Thanks Dawn. I will deffo watch and report back.

Do I need to see part one?

Part one mainly shows how and why she got started in the first place.  Will post it anyway to save you having to search it out.

Not as tall as that fella in Tom's photo.

This is true.  Wonder if he plays American football too?  The pair of them would make one heck of a team!

He's only in high school now, but at 6'4" and 400 pounds, Tony Picard is already the biggest running back in the US at any level.  Might be one to watch over the next couple of years.

In other news, I'm in week 8 of Couch to 5k training.  I was meant to do 5k after this Friday's run, but I was sooooooo close on Monday night, I got annoyed with myself for not being at 5k already.  Well, so close as in, I'd done 3.77k.  How hard would another 1.23 have been?

I decided I'd push myself during last night's training run.  Turns out, when you're not used to it...it's pretty friggin' hard.

But... I DID IT!!!      Managed a full 5k ahead of schedule!!!  wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

8 weeks ago I struggled to run for even 60 seconds.  Amazing what the body can achieve if you give it half a chance and put a wee bit of effort in.  Will spend the next couple of weeks doing 5k regularly to prep for the MoRun at the end of the month.  Still can't believe it!
