Hi everyone

rarely put horses up as it always seems to give them the kiss of death but today i thought i would send some love to this much in need of a decent winner thread.

820 Lingfield - Misstemper - currently trading around 14s

Some history - Ive been following this one since day 1 as i know the owner whom has been a family friend for decades. The horse is temperamental being a filly that likes things her own way but she definitely has the ability to win off this mark today. We finally have a decent in form strong jockey booked. She needs strong handling as soon as the gates open. She will respond to pressure and hates being passed and will try to find more if pressured enough. Her best run imo was at this track trip when not far behind a listed class horse rated some 36 pounds higher.

Poor runs -  Its been a learning curve and there have been several factors for some terrible runs to be frank. One time on a trip to kempton the horse box broke down and she was sat on the motorway for 3 hours and got extremely fractious in her box. Some weak apprentice jockey bookings have not been the best ideas either. She hates turf especially soft going conditions. Most importantly of all she recently had a breathing operation some 2 months ago which has definitely made a huge impact on her. The two terrible runs in April were put down to her needing the op.
I feel todays the day , the draw could of been kinder but its not terrible. Shes almost certainly on a winning mark on a track/ surface that will suit so much better. There are a few in the race that look on fair enough marks but i feel our mark is way below where it should be. Im convinced she will go close today but i am pot committed now so to speak.

Fwiw im on win only as ive done enough money backing this one ew before and its not the best idea if we want more on especially so as i think she will win Smiley

I think its worth mentioning just how good this years festival was. Some of the winners were just awesome.
Vautour comes to mind , some of the best jumping ive seen from a novice. Hes a beast. Looking forward to seeing him in the grade 1 staying chases next season.
Hard not to be impressed by Coneygree in the gold cup. Rarely will you see one make all in the gold cup, never mind one that is still a novice and has only jumped fences in public 3 times before.
Dour stayer Don Poli surely ideally suited by next years gold cup.

I really hope these 3 meet in the next year.

Few county hurdle winners will ever win by as much as 8 Lengths. Wicklow Brave a quirky sort with obvious huge potential.

Plenty of exciting novice hurdlers to look forward to next season Douvan Peace & Co Killultagh Vic Shaneshill i will be following with interest.

Sad to see Mccoy clearly tilted throughout the week being constantly reminded it was his last festival riding.

Nice run from Shaneshill on opening day.
Today i like RAWNAQ in the 4pm.
Ran well here before as a hurdler on its only run at cheltenham in a decent race that has thrown up loads of good winners since.
This one loves the faster surface and is nicely flat bred so hopefully has the speed to burn em all off up the hill.Young horses with a lower weight do well in this race. Big price for a small yard and is only a novice but novices have won this race before.  Theres plenty in this race need soft ground and further.

25/1 EW 5 plcs the way to go good luck !

Shaneshill race 1 . Grossly underestimated ability imo. Just watch last years bumper on similar ground. Race run in great time and most importantly he runs up that hill !

Bred by Kings Theatre running back on the quicker surface over a no doubt fastly run 2 miles, should see improved jumping & Trainer did a similar campaign with champagne fever  this ones a great bet at 12s  to make top 3 finish. Win only for me gotta be confident !  good luck Smiley

No Jockey has come close to him imo for determination and the will to win. Many a time he has got up to win when looking to be well beaten a few furlongs from the winning line whereby most jockeys just throw the towel in or save the horse for another day.
Some would say that he's not the horseman like Ruby Walsh or the great Jonn Francome. I certainly remember in his early riding years  the negative comments McCoy would get from the media for giving horses a hard time in a finish.
Paul Nicholls was devastated when he lost McCoy as stable jockey to Martin Pipe , clearly the correct decision for his riding career and an opportunity he just could not pass up, but i know Nicholls still harbours a grudge to Pipe senior to this day.

I for one will be sad to see him hang his boots up as he is still at the top of his game, but i wish him well in the future and thank you Mr McCoy for Eredon Bleu !

Hi this may of already been raised somewhere on the forum but heres my question anyway.
I really dont like the new software update especially so when playing more than one tournament at a time. Has anyone else experienced it being slow, sticky and less user friendly ? Ive gone back using stars 6 software but apparently this is being discontinued soon.
I am using a mac.

Thanks for any possible  replies in advance.

Motive ?
lol

i thought we were having a fun punt in the biggest tote pool in history. obv the plan was to share 15 mill . so my motivation would be something with similar odds. someone suggested lotto and i agreed as others have.

a win treble with three horses over 9/2 will do just fine too for all the nits Smiley

im cool with whatever the majority want to do,  at the end of the day its a TENNER and my toys would be too heavy and antiquated to throw from any pram, indeed are probably worth a small fortune now if i could find them.

doing 150 lines on next weeks scoop/ lotto is definitely preferable to punting on football or dogs ffs, it is a SCOOP thread after all.  Smiley
