Hope the title avoids any ambiguity.
Ok, I've been watching more films recently and here are some I've seen for discussion.
The Andromeda Strain Early 70s sci fi film. Virulent and deadly virus outbreak. Can it be controlled in time?
I've always liked Michael Crichton's work, especially Westworld, which is a great blend of sci fi and western. This was his first novel to be adapted into a film and it's pretty far ahead of its time with a compelling plot and great technological sophistication for the seventies.
Recommended for sci fi fans and anyone who has liked other film adaptation's of crichton novels.

SeveranceBritish horror/ comedy. A party of office workers on a team-building exercise in eastern europe which goes horribly wrong.
I really liked this. Reminded me a lot of hostel but I thought the plot was a lot more coherent and well balanced, and the characters better fleshed out (just a little less gore though - unsurprisingly!)
Despite the comic relief provided by most of the characters, the film still creates some jumpy moments and maintains a respectable level of suspense throughout.
Entertaining film, showing hostel how it should have been done. Highly recommended.
The DescentBritish Horror. A group of adventurous girls go cave diving into uncharted depths - but what lies within?
Another british horror film and another good film. Film starts quite slowly, but this helps give a little dimension to the characters and makes what happens that much more effective. Anyone with claustrophobia will be cringing at some moments of the film, i think they get this aspect of cave diving across really well. The camera effects for the horror moments were inventive and effective.
Nicely made horror film. Fans of the genre should definitely watch it.

Quick ones
SpoorloosDutch psychological thriller. A couple are on holiday when the young wife disappears without trace at a service station.
The film is an insight into the mind of both the tortured man whose partner has been snatched, and the methodical, unusual villain. It's a well done film, a little different from most. It shies away from an orthodox denouement, in keeping with the unconventional approach of the rest of the film.
After something a bit different? This is for you!

DelicatessanFrench surreal black comedy. A warped butcher lives in an apartment with bizarre tenants. A man arrives in response to an ad in the paper for an oddjob man. But is he really there to fix leaky pipes?
Very odd film. I want to call it a french version of brazil, which is perhaps a little simplistic.
It's definitely very funny in parts and the whacky characters in the film really make it. The plot is cracked, and doesn't make a great deal of sense to be honest. If you like absurd comic films then you'll enjoy this.
