I believe M. Gaultier sometimes sports a kilt.

That might be interesting Tikay.........

Just saw Surinder Sunar, defending champ, going into one of the rooms - he asked a tournament lady who the chip leader of day 1 1 was.  She said "Francois Callaghan.  92,000."

Rob Hollink and Devilfish clash early over a sizeable pot on an  A J x x x board with four hearts on it.  Rob (whose hand wasn't shown) raised Devilfish on the end, who eventually passed showing a heartless AJ.

Someone, as yet nameless, is down to the felt after five minutes with a surprise all-in (trips versus a full house).  Today might be quite exciting.

Plenty action on the Colclough/Wilson/Brindley table, but NOT involving them. Dave just slipped us a note with some interesting action - Jen's posting it right now.

Lucky that blonde have DC on hand, notes from the players themselves at a WPT Table, you don't get that on many sites!

Some heat on the Trumper/Black table, something about showing hands at the showdown. We will get the lowdown at the break. Heat on the Willie Tann table too. Everybody seems to be tetchy today.

And Carlo just nipped me for 20 Euros - looks like he left his money at homre, as well as his clothes.

Straight from horse's mouth - this couple of stories come from Table 1 where El Blondie seems to be able to do our jobs as well as his!

"Russian ace Alexander Kuzmin tussles with Claude Cohen (previous French WPT finalist.  It appeared that Claude flopped a set of against Alex's top pair of Aces and he lost 6000 chips to Claude.
The very next pot Alex flops his own set of against Tobey Maguire's AK on an A 8 4 board.  Alex trap checks his way into getting his whole remaining 9000 in and doubles through off Spiderman caught in his Russian web...Tobey down to 6,000 while Alex at 18,000"

How good is this- real time hand reports from the players themselves.  So TightEnd no need to be there in person...

After I managed to be 16 hours late writing my "Day One Diary" the techs at www.poker425.com have excelled themselves & got it up on the site in 20 minutes flat.

But the baa-lambs have found and posted an old pic of me - THE worst pic you ever saw - & doctored it. Never try to get the better of a techy, eh?

PS - It was taken when I was younger. (Aint that the strangest question, when you show someone a pic, & they ask if it was "taken when you were younger?"... I mean, how many answers are possible to THAT?...)
