As the forum seems to be growing like mad i thought it might be a decent thread to have one piece of poker advice from all the wise blondites. Hopefully it will become a beginners guide type thingy.

I'll get the ball rolling - (not that i'm wise)

STARTING HANDS. Don't play rubbish until you can play it well. Mr Colclough's starting hand guide on bet365 poker advice is a good place to start.

Play at a level you are comfortable at and don't lose your confidence during a bad run.

Never stop studying the game.

Takes a few minutes to learn, yet a lifetime to master.

wax on, wax off.

There's no point looking up a dead horse's arse.

Rabbit-hunting, that is.

i was sat next to and got talking to the camel at luton at their last festival and we were jabbering away about poker as you do and i mentioned i had just recently maid my first venture into limit cash poker and was finding it quite frustrating etc etc.  He said that he was in Vegas a few years ago (Keith hadn't been playing long) playing limit poker and a Texan old timer playing with Keith said "son, you go to the bar and buy me a JD and coke and i'll tell you the secret of poker" - keith being a newbie and keen to learn trotted off to the bar and returned with afformentioned drink and gave it to the texan and requested he be now given 'the secret of poker'.  The man took a deep breath and said to the young humped one in that annoying southern drawl.. "son, always play 10-5, cause you can't make a straight at poker without a 10 or a 5 in your hand" - keith sighed and no doubt armed with this advice has become the player he is today  Smiley

Now theres advice you don't need!
