Was this it?

Not sure Tom. It was A5 size I think - about half the size of normsl A4 paper, & just contained lists of all the different types of Steam Locomorive in groups of "types", plus Diesel Railcar numbers. No pics, just numbers.

I used to take it to bed with me, it was my most treasured possession, & I had it for years & years.

No bobby, it's the anticipation that gets me worked up. Even Railway Stations, I adore them. I want to marry Derby Railway Sidings.

I have some of the early copies of the Thomas the Tank Engine books. There is about 9 in the collection.  Three are in great condition, the other six are abit torn. One of them was attacked by a savage horse and ripped badly.  I was told by a collector they would be valuable to people interested in that sort of thing.

Let's get this clear Sark. Your copy of Thomas The Tank Engine was attacked by a savage horse....?

You are the best, you really are!

I hereby Promote you to Jen status - Officially Loopy. But Lovely Loopy.

Care to explain how this savage horse, presumably passing by at the time, came to attack Thomas The Tank Engine? And if you tell us a Bike Race was involved.......

schtop schtop...you are killing me.

One Christmas I received an annual with the 'Billys boots' story in it, I must have read that story every night for a year until I got a new one the next Christmas.....thankfully I managed to keep all savage horses away from it tho I did spill porridge over it one day.

 Cheesy

The books are about 50 or 60 years old.  They belonged to my Uncle, he gave them to me in perfect condition when I was about six or seven ( always a bad mistake to give a Kid expensive things ) .  I took them on holiday with me to St. Andrews in the caravan. One day I was messing around and carrying the books about with me. I couldn't read very well at that stage and was abit later than other kids at learning, so I just used to look at the pictures.  A horse was in the field next to the caravan, I leaned over and said  " nice horsey, look at Henry he is the Green engine ".  The horse must have thought it was an apple and bit it and walked off.  The Lady ran and got it of the Horse. But half of it was already gone.
