hands 1 and 2 are insta-calls

hand 3... its inventive, but the guy has got too much of his stack in there already to hope to get him folding. Once someone has 1/3 or more of their stack in at the lower levels, you dont get them folding very often, certainly not often enough to try this crazy move. If you are gonna do it, then just call and save it for the river.. if a scare card comes, it might get through. If the scare card improved their hand, then they would have called on the turn anyways, and if its a blank it gets them folding the times they are on a draw and miss the river. Thats only IF you decide to do this, I'd recommend you just dont decide to do it

Hand 1 I folded. I've been stacked so many times now with TPTK or an overpair. I'm a bit surprised you guys think it's an insta call. I'm finding these sort of decisions quite tough.

Hand 2 I called after a little think. I was scared of a bigger set. Luckily he had KJ and didn't improve. At the time I was only thinking he could have a set or 2 pair. I guess AA and some kind of flush draw are possible as well.

how do you think you are beat? the action preflop doesn't really suggest AA.. so unless he has 10/10..4/4 or K10, you figure to have the best hand by quite a distance. Couple that with the myriad of draws out there (flush and straight draws) its a really bad place to start folding TPTK routinely... especially when your top pair is a King

The hand that came into my head was K10. I see your point.

Thanks

Hand 2 is a clear call the circumstance have to be very specific to ever fold a set on a flop like this and i can't say i have ever done it, tho i have seen convincing arguements to do so.

Hand 3 once you have bluffed once and not taken it down with you continuation bet, give it up.

Hand 1 is the most interesting, you have described you and your opponent to be playing quite laggy, which does set the scene for the hand. Firstly getting over attached to TPTK in cash games is a losing proposition but as with everything in poker its circumstational. In this hand he has pushed over the top after you have shown alot of strength but its an overbet indicating weakness more than strength.

So what does he have we are losing to AA or KK but i think that he 3 bets pre flop with these hands. Other hands that are possible are 10 10, K 10 or 44 these are the ones im worried about.

Ok what are we beating KQ, KJ and if he is really laggy maybe even k9. Also mostly likely for mine is a flush draw from something like  or  . Also qj is in there. Also there is the chance he is doing with nothing at all.

I think means we are beating alot more than we are losing too, pot odds of about 1.75 to 1. Its a clear call.

This is how i would look at the hand at full ring, this being 6 max means its more likely you are ahead.

imo longy has got hand 3 spot on. u may be beat, but there are more chances that your opponant has a weaker hand than you. In a cash game you must call whenever this is true. because you say its a LAG battle then the range you give him is larger so specific reads on what he has are not possible, noway i would give him enough credit for KT or TT i just pay up if he does have it.

Hand 1. I would never fold or consider folding a set on a flop like this. with only JJ and KK that beats you and many variations that you beat its def -ev to fold Vs any player. Set Vs underset is always ul. get ur chips in and complain to a mate if u r beat (cheers pab).

hand 3. lol. think we have all been there. you are a little ul to get the call tho.
