Joe Beevers is on 66.5k

There was a bit of a kafuffle earlier. Lots of shouting and lots of French being spouted. My francais is a tad rusty, well... fossilised really, so I didn't quite catch what they were moaining about, but it seemed pretty heated.

Anyhow, even though the Thomas Kremsers of the WPT were forced to step in, in all ended in smiles (perhaps forced) and handshakes all around.

After speaking to Joe, he claims to have been pretty card-dead over the last couple of hours. Few hands and few opportunities, especially with the table now playing ten-handed.

***************************BREAK*****************************

15 minutes for the remaining four tables to regather their strength for at least one more 90 min level... I was kind of prepared for it to be a battle to the bubble, and am not disappointed so far.

I heard from Henning that that fuss may have been to do with a ruling on "exposed cards=hand dead?" - which earlier in the week saw him forced to match an all-in which covered him, and then muck his cards, knocking him out of the €2,500 tournament.  He said that in this fresh case, the card-exposer was allowed to keep his chips, and only call bets - - a bit of annoyance expressed in the bar foyer area, and I don't blame him.  Rules, unusual or otherwise, are fine, it's just a matter of consistency.

Also had a quick word with Christer Johanssen, as I was eager to find out exaclty what Phil was moaning about during his 'that hand should be dead' rant.

Apparantly, Christer sat down just as his cards werer being dealt to him. A marginal decision, but one to which Phil was voicing his complaints, rather vocally as usual.

The interesting thing, however, is that the complaint only emerged once Christer had reraised Phil's initial bet.

Blinds have now shot up to 1500/3000 and we're down to 35 players. From what I understand, they're hoping to stop at the 27 mark.

Finishing 35th was none other than Joe Beevers, with this rather unfortunate -
He saw a flop of three diamonds with Karsten Johanssen, and the biggest pot of the night kicked off - resulting in Joe making the all-in move with his overpair and flush draw, only to find against him!  It was pretty irrelevant as he was drawing to the Jacks only, but the flush came on the river, making Mr. Johannsen chip leader (again) with over 400k.

Right before this big hand occurred, Elky made his last stand with , re-raising to 31k a preflop raise of 6k.  The initial raiser took his time about calling, as you may expect with , but the board came a rather definitive three diamonds to knock the Pokerstars Star out.

Patrice Lepage is OUT after calling an all-in reraise from Vanessa Rousso.

Lepage raises to 12k from early position, Rousso moves all-in with tens and the frenchman, after a longish dwell, makes the call with pocket sevens.

The rather vocal Roussa leaps from her seat, claps and chants 'Don't suck out on me', 'Don't suck out on me' after every card.

8-Q-5-K-J

... and then a punch of the air at the river.

And here's your current chip leader, Karsten Johansen, looking very chippy indeed. In fact, it's taken him 20 minutes to stack 'em.

Still flying the flag are...

Surinder Sunar and Nabil Ayoumi

Count them and weep WPT, the Brits are here in full force.

Maybe we should claim Hellmuth, I'm sure he stayed in one of our hotels once.

After all, we do have Rusedski...

Please don't judge all Americans based on Rousso. Or Hellmuth, for that matter. (Unless he wins.)

She wasn't rude, just vocal...

Hellmuth however...  Cheesy
