Hand for hand!
My spidey senses tell me Rousso is out, but I'll have to confirm.
Meanwhile, some chip counts whilst we wait for the final man to fall.

I don't care if she's a triple WSOP champion, that kind of behaviour has no place at the poker table. At least not on this side of the big pond. Perhaps other criteria apply elsewhere. That's my opinion anyhow.

BJ and Flushie, it doesn't sound like either of you are much of a fan of Vanessa and I certainly don't condone players shouting for cards when they are ahead. In fact I think that it's a bad thing and shouting and giving high fives etc has no place in poker. I met Vanessa for the first time to day and I liked her. She is fun to play with and she was very excited because she got lucky in a pot earlier when she hit a runner runner flush to stay in. She thought that she was then on a freeroll and was generally very enthusiastic about the whole event. I think you might be being a little unfair on her but what do I know.

Vanessa Rousso is indeed OUT, eliminated by Jani Soyintula.
All the chips in flew in preflop with Rousso making the final push with jacks.
She was resistant to show her hand first, coninually asking if Jani had a pair.
She eventually revealed her hand after Jani showed A-K.
However, the king hit the flop, and Jani scooped the pot.
Rousso, at first, looked as though she was about to cry, before pulling herself together and announcing 'good game'.

Hi Joe, i trust your judgement on the matter, i am not having a go so much at her but at the practice of card calling, cheering when you knock someone out etc.
It really pisses me off and i wish a speedy exit in a poker comp to people who do it.
P.S. How are things? Congrats on the FTP deal. Speak soon.

I agree with these comments. As I stated earlier, she was indeed shouting for cards and so on, but I don't believe she was being intentionally rude or disrespectful. It's just that it's part of her character and her vocal presence is merely her releasing tension and excitement at these late and potentially highly lucrative stages of the tournament.
Besides, unlike various other players I've witnessed today, I don't recall her moaning or taking any digs at anyone. She seemed like a genuinely friendly and chatty person.

Joe -- Your experience with Vanessa is far more direct than ours, so it should hold more weight. (And I respect your opinion.)
But it still irks me when players ahead in a hand call for cards. Is it a fair critique? Possibly not. But it's one of those etiquette things that gets under my skin.

A huge crowd was suddenly allowed to surge forth around one of the tables...and there was baited breath, and then...

I agree and I don't even like players calling loudly for cards when they are behind. I just don't think that Vanessa would do it it a way that some other players would though. She seemed genuinly nice throughout.
I'll tell you the kind of thing that really gets me though and it happened at the same table. Maybe Jen or Snoopy could provide the names? A French guy sat on Eli Marciano's left made a raise to 10,000 in early position and the player in the ten seat, I believe he was from Norway, pulled his cards right in behind his chips. The dealer looked at me (I was in the 1 seat) so I passed, then four more players passed including Phil Helmuth who was on the big blind. The French guy started to move his cards forward and the dealer went to push the pot when Phil realised and pointed out that the Norwegian still had cards. Then the Norwegian tried to get a ruling that Frenchies hand was dead as it had crossed the line!
The point is that some people are good and some are bad. Mr Norway is genuinly bad and I believe that Vanessa in genuinly good.

And our bubble boy is...
Gabriel Burlet
And it's a rather 'one up the bum' nasty outdraw.
His all-in push is called by the
of Thomas Whalroos. Gabriel flips
.
Board =
Ouch.
Gabriel took it well, but looked gutted, whilst Thomas is left singing with delight. (Probably 'I am the egg man, I am the Whalroos) (ahem)

Angle shooters should be drawn-and-quartered, and I agree that is an offense against poker on a whole different level.
Bad etiquette = annoying
Angle Shooting = downright evil
As for the bubble -- What a painful beat! That turn card was viscious, increasing Whalroos from three outs to eleven.
Update:
Nemesis is right -- Whalroos increased to 14 outs. In my post, I was only counting his NEW outs, and forgot to include the original three aces that were still live in the deck. Thanks, Nemesis!

Right, well we've been informed that play will start at 4pm again tomorrow, as the final 27 (all in the money) play down to the televised few...
And that means that we will be here tomorrow too - and on time as we're all in the city and ready for more WPT poker. As ever.
Stick a fork in him - he's held the fort for the last half hour so
for snoopy - he's done.
