Communication has to be before zero, without it the inventer wouldnt have been able to tell and teach everyone
what type of communication??
oral, signing, morse code, telecommunication.
To be honest i see communication as more of an evolution than a invention, the cavemen communicated in some fashion, and it has evolved from there, math however is a the lynch pin for modern engineering and science, without 0 we would be as daft as the Romans!!

Zero is a big thing for sure, but it depends on other things such as power for example. Id put electricity and the english language ahead of it

Well if any language was to be on the top 10 inventions list we would have a tougher decision than just saying English, Latin, Chinese, German, all have fine points and have contributed to the English language I'm many ways, as for electricity, that has been about longer than the amoeba, Electricity has been in nature probably from the creation of existence, in for the creation of this planet, and we had no part in it creation, we simply realised it was there and available.

The best invention ever is Star Wars! Fact.
Didn't Star Trek beat it for the most loved TV production?
Let's not be silly now. Spock or Yoda? Not much of a contest eh?
Zero? Someone compared Star Wars to Zero? Shoot me!

I think Tikay would aggree, without 0 we had no way of calculating the stress the boilers could handle, or the maximum load the train could pull, Even Tikay would see the bigger picture here, without 0 we would not have trains as we know them.
