Hmmm... I'm going for Marisa Tomei's creation of Mona Lisa Vito from My Cousin Vinny.

That is a clear, concise, properly prepared and well thought out suggestion.
Over-ruled.

No, only because if movies are allowed you must place the Kurasawa works above that of Lucas, he did steal so much from Kurasawam you have to give the guy credit, best thing is lucas admits to it.
I love Star wars too but as an "invention" well I think thats a bit of a slap in the face to starwars, its much more than an invention, its a hope bringer, an entertainer, and uplifter, an artistic masterpeice, but an invention, i think not.#
lol

Done that, and we had it yesterday anyways, as we were married in Vegas we decided to celebrate on Vegas time, we had the day today in and took it easy.
As playing tig with buses was not on her mind, let me say my vasectomy is only 99% gtd to prevent pregnancy and she might beat those odds !!!!

Kurasawa did not use lightsabers, Yoda, Natalie Portman and most importantly Vader.

True, but a light saber is just a very old Katana, if we put things in to perspective, and yes natalie portman looks fit, but she's still the little girl in Leon to me. and c'mon she does not compare to Carrie fisher in That gold Bikini!!!!!!!
Yoda is merely the wise old master from the hidden fortress, Vader is possibly the greatest masterpiece character ever created IMHO, His inspiration fort Vader is still a mystery to me, I'm sure the character was not lifted from Kurasawa, although the outfit is!

Does the Katana make the cool sounds and have amazing colours? Can it deflect lasers?
Is the wise old master a force user? Is he green? Does he speak backwards? Would he last 5 mins with yoda?
Vader rocks for his lines above all else. Especially in Empire.
Gold bikini Vs Portman? You win.

Does the katana make cool sounds? - yes is the simple answer, that how you know you are slashing properly, where do you think Lucas got the idea of the lightsaber making a noise?( i only know as I practiced iaido for years)
Does the wise old master use the force, well he does not showhimself to use the force but he does have frightning perception silimar to yoda, in to the bargain he never needs to fight as he seems to resolve any unrest with a few words similar to "These are not the droids you are looking for, he can go about his business".
BTW yoda would kick his arse but he was sooo lifted from this character!!!

Having left this discussion after a small tiff about time (enjoyed that Mikky, ta), I wake up this fine morn to see my fellow Jedi locked into a inventionary discussion regarding Kurosawa/Seven Samurai/Star Wars.
It's evolution baby - Kurosawa came up with the story that Lucas used to tell his verion. He then IMPROVED on it with Star Wars.
So, therefore Star Wars is THE best invention
(Baron can thank me later - hubb hubba)

The best Sci- Fi invention has to be the transporter as shown in Star Trek. What is better than that? Even Willy Wonka thought so. I watched a documentary recently where Johnny Depp played the part of Willy Wonka. They showed one of these transporters in that. Great inventions
