I reckon he's been reading about continuation betting, but forgot that he is allowed to take your actions into account.

His call on the river is pure class.

Maybe because you don't take victory with a lot of class?  Or maybe he's a member of blondepoker and is annoyed at the pointless hands you post on the HAND ANALYSIS board.

 to be fair to mikky

the other player called him a barsteward first so it isnt a case of winning with grace, it is the other player losing without grace.

mikky then questions the guys play. '' J3 ? " as in - how can you call my re raise with that then bluff all your chips off to me, including a ridiculous call on the river, then call ME a Bastard?

i dont blame mikky for winding him up, the other guys obviously the one with the problem

what kind of cognitive process is this?

its bad to mock people for playing bad, but if they insult me, I will do all I can to try and shame them into playing better?

sure seems like a self harming process to me.

Just be happy you got some mug to give you chips and move on... its not primary school where everytime someone says something you have to say something back along the "well he said it first miss!" lines

I know the classy and poker savvy thing to do here is "get it quietly" but the guy does dish out some abuse to Mikky first and a bit of mockery/ rubbing his nose in it is surely not too unacceptable here.

It's always regarded as bad poker to semi-educate poor players by humiliating them after a dire play, the theory being that this will only serve to drive them away and cause them to improve their play. When you get a guy like this though, whose poker problems seem to stem from his lack of self control and incredible facility to tilt, Mikky mocking him a little is very unlikely to act as a catalyst for the guy to completely revolutionise his poker technique and approach to the game.

On the other hand, Mikky can help himself deal with the abuse the guy is throwing at him, brighten his mood a little and put him in a good frame of mind to play better poker for the rest of the tournament.

Plus we get to have a laugh at the abusive guy when it gets posted here.

Well played Mikky!

the question is of course why would you bother to be affected by someone you don't know swearing a bit? perhaps the guy forgot to take his medications? left the mental hospital too early?
If i can win my hands and the only cost would be someone calling me some names , bring it on any time....
