At least Norwich did win, 10 points clear 3rd now with game in hand, sounds like we should have scored loads..Beckford on bench Smiley

I would be surprised if the automatically promoted teams don't come from the top 3 as it stands now.

Lol reading the Man Utd fans forums they want us to beat kettering so so bad. The hatred on the forums from them Smiley some classic quotes..

"goes to show half this forum is all. hate liverpool, chelsea, arsenal and have not worn a united shirt long enough to know that our true bitter rivals are the leeds scum. Hated them for winning title in 92 but love them for being crazy enough to then proceed to sell Cantona for £1.1 million and send us onto 16 years of glory glory man utd.

Miss this fixture so much and part of me wants Leeds back in prem for that very reason"

"someone got a a stat on the last time this fixture happened..oh its going to be brilliant..

I want Sir Alex to put out the kids and beat them..that would be a statemtent

"Youre a bunch of minnows now..we didnt even care to call Rooney to even tell him about the fixture hell not even Gary Neville knows today there was a match..instead we sent the senior lads on christmas hols"

Yep we most probs will get spanked, reply vs Kettering on ITV4 tomorrow night. I guess this will mean around 10k for the gate at Elland Road.

Hudds had loads of chances, cant remember the last team in the same division to really give us a going over like they did. Norwich while the better team didn't create the amount of chances hudds seemed to. A well earned point me thinks.

Hudds do create lots, and ship lots, the Kev Keegan influence on Lee Clark perhaps?  Shame the bookies are wise to them in the +2.5 goals market

21 shots on target, 23 off target, and we nearly went to penalties. Unreal.

Well 8.5k Leeds fans will head to Old trafford paying £41-51 per ticket for the privilege to meet our biggest rivals..

There are rumours floating about the Norwich forum that Charlton are going to be selling in January

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Cash-strapped-Charlton-set-to-sell-off-stars-in-January-article229473.html

Any truth in this? [ ] I really trust the mirror as gospel.

/ thread hijack.

going back to this I have some bad news longy. there was a q&a session recently with our chairman richard murray, it's available to view online but only to subscribers of our tv service but one of our fans has blogged it. it rubbishes the article, suggests norwich will be selling and that leeds are really stretching the finances this year (looks like a good gamble though)

I certainly believe murray more than a random mirror journo

Quote
Richard seems well-acquainted with the financial viability of our nearest League 1 rivals. Our wage bill is a bit lower than Leeds, with Huddersfield and Norwich just behind us. He believes that Huddersfield have a wealthy backer, but that Norwich are financially stretched and that they may be forced to sell some of their playing assets in January. Do not buy Delia Smith’s new book this Christmas (pause for laughter). Colchester seem to losing money heavily, but it is Leeds who will gamble this year on the basis that the ageing Ken Bates is growing tired of being in League 1.

The recent Daily Mirror article was dismissed as “lazy journalism”, “mischievious” and “counter-productive”.

Quote
Richard explained that there are about 34 clubs currently up for sale. The recent £7m investment by Directors had provided sufficient working capital and funding to ensure that we can continue to operate and that we don’t need to sell any current assets, although the Club may choose to do so, if it sees fit. The Club intends to be selective regarding any potential buyers in order to ensure that things remain in good hands.

Cheers Gatso.

Interestingly there have been a number of statements coming out of Carrow Road recently that we won't be selling any of our 1st team regulars, this has come from the manager and chief executive David McNally, who basically runs the club now as Delia and husband have shown their incompetence in recent seasons.

There is no doubt we have financial problems but the attitude i am getting from the club at the moment is that, we see the most +ev strategy is to stick with the current team and get into the championship asap. Which is probably true as no way we sell 18000 season tickets next year and if we don't get promoted our best players will leave in the summer.

So it is pretty much game on for the 2nd promotion spot, I don't see Leeds blowing it from here.

stretching our  finances? i would think and bet its the complete opposite. 4m+ profit last year and about the same if not more this season. Not many new perm players brought in and defo within the strict wage structure. Delph 9m in bank and 2-3 youngsters for a 2m more..lots of TV games..

We aint spent anything on players in terms on transfer fee's for ages.

This is all may well be true, but with Uncle Ken in charge god knows where he is cyphoning off that money. The man is a complete crook and should be behind bars, not in charge of a football club.
