Whisper it quietly but we're actually conducting some reasonable transfer business.

Signed Rob Green, Matt Grimes, Kyle Bartley and Marcus Antonsson but this latest one to go through a few minutes ago really has me excited.

Grimesy and Roofey two excellent signings.

Please forget my above post.

My first feeling of optimism and happiness in 5 years only lasted 4 hours.

Should have known the Roofe signing was just to appease fans slightly before it was announced last night that Lewis Cook is joining Bournemouth for 6m rising to 15m. Probably about a tenth of what he will be worth in 3 years time.

Nut low when our star youngsters are joining clubs whom should be in the third/fourth tier of English football.

Did you go into this close season thinking he would actually stay?
Or is the issue just that he has gone to AFCB?

Seems a very smart move by the lad for me, but I am sure you are very sorry to see him go, a quite exceptional prospect.

Bournemouth have done some good business.  Cook, Ibe and Ake should all hit the ground running there.  Plus Gradel and Wilson back to full fitness.

The close season no.

When he refused the England Under 19s call up because he wanted to get to know Garry Monk maybe. What I said is mainly sour grapes on my behalf.

Agreed its a good move by him, will do well under Eddie Howe's stewardship and with the likes or Surman and Arter in there atm in CM I think he can get into the team quickly.

Also agree Bournemouth are doing good bidness. Just need a couple of defenders and a goalkeeper now (Mings back from season long injury too) and they could creep into a surprise top half berth.

Just 16 years ago yesterday.....

Barcelona v Leeds, Champions League

http://www.11v11.com/matches/barcelona-v-leeds-united-13-september-2000-1221/

Meanwhile, the revolving Managerial door rotates ever faster, & it looks like Gary Monk will do well to see September out.

Anyone care to guess how many Managers Leeds United have had in those 16 years?

Another win last night sees Leeds well placed for a play off spot into the Premier League, & the original "sad sad" Football Club thread is deathly quiet.

Is it fear of bokking them, or are there no Leeds United fans left?

I'm just waiting for the expected slump, scrape into the playoffs, and out in the first match. I watched some of last nights game and if they do somehow get into the premiership then I will look to back them to go back down straight away.

I cheer myself up by watching Peter Lorrimer goals on Youtube.

Never knew you were a Leeds fan, hector? It's a long way from Devon to Leeds.

It has nothing to do with location, more an older brother who supported Man Utd and my need to support a team that beat his, and in the late 60's that meant the mighty Leeds. I can still recall the joy of beating Man Utd 5-0.

Sure it was not early 70's & 5-1?

Not a bad Man U Team that day, shame the Leeds team is not shown.

I didn't start supporting them on the day they beat them, I am not that fickle. 5-1 is quite possible as I do get confused with the 7-0 victory over Southampton a little later, or earlier. The Southampton match was when the commentator started to count the passes they made without Southampton touching the ball.
