It sounds like we are indeed going to buy a goalscorer from Div 1.

But will it be Beckford, a player who looks like he belongs in the Premiership?

Of course it fcking won't be.

Simon bloody Cox.

Marvellous.

Simon Cox is class, would take him over Beckford myself

Jonathan Douglas released. Surprised? A good pick up for a Championship side or not good enough?

Being a Leicester fan you'll have more knowledge of the lower reaches of English football than me Cheesy

But every time I've seen Cox he's looked like a goal hanger.

Beckford has everything, pace, skill and a very pointy elbow.

I think some of the fans who are having a go at Bates for not offering him higher wages need a reality check.

I would never wish to sacrifice the wage structure at the club that Bates has put into place for any player. We've seen more than any other club what can happen if players are overpaid grossly (aswell as numerous other factors admittedly).

The club was placed into adminstration and its very existence was at one point threatened because of previous mis-management at financial level.

I'd love to get £1.2m for him. I just pray we dont get liam dickinson, grayson seems to be in love with him. I can see us getting some kind of season long loan for a striker as grayson has said he loves the loan market and bates hates spending money.

Beckford will be missed, but he was never really a fan favourite and never turned up for big games.

I am always suprised how much shit Beckford gets.

I wish him well tbh, he scored a shitload of goals for us these past two seasons and will do someone a good job. The samount of bets I shipped on him for first goalscorer Smiley

Dickinson is a right donkey and it would be my worst knightmare seeing him lead the line for us 09-10 season.
