I guess you have to back the other side -4.5 or somethin, create the spread that way. I'm lettin it spin so it doesn't much affect me, this +/- nonsense gets confusing sometimes

I'm no expert.

But I think if you backed the Stellers at -4.5 then unless you can find a match at +4.5 for the Dolphins then your best off sat at home with a beer shouting 'Go Steelers!'

The odds you will get on Miami at +4.5 will be poor, limiting your profit.

Just put my bet on, but odds were -107, not -110.  Hopefully that won't affect the refund if it loses!

Gl all.

odds still seem to be -110 just now, or 1.91 decimal.

no the odds dont affect the refund.

I'm up for this, just waiting for my rakeback account to be created with manion poker. Note that you need ti sign up through a poker rakeback afiliate to use their sportsbook if you plan on playing poker at mansion with rakeback sometime in the future.

$1100 on steelers, no hedge. Kickoff half past midnight thursday.

Seems the "withdrawl conditions" are that you need to give them ID to get any money out, they've honoured this type of promotion before.

GO STEELERS !!!!!

So all I have to do is place $1100 on the Steelers to win?

Gl all.

Simply visit the MANSION Sportsbook and place a minimum Point Spread (Handicap) bet of USD 1,100 to win USD 1,000 (or currency equivalent) on the Pittsburgh Steelers for their game on Thursday 7 Sep 2006. (00:30 GMT 8 Sep 2006)

If you took 107 instead of 110 then i think its void......

You think they are just banking on most of the people messing up the bets?

they just want publicity, they have ad boards in all the football grounds just now, theyre just heavy on promotion right now, throwing money at it trying to get established.

i think a lot of people will make the sports exchange mistake though, yeah.

Sportsbook Promotions

Pittsburgh Steelers 2006 Superbowl Champs Promotion

MANSION is proud to announce the success of our season-opening NFL Cash-Back promotion, which has given five thousand of our Members a unique opportunity to place bets on Pittsburgh Steelers of USD 1,100 to win USD 1,000 (or currency equivalent) in their season opener at home against an in form Miami Dolphins.

Betting on the promotion has now ended after reaching full subscription with 5,000 MANSION Members having taken part, wagering USD 5.5 Million in the cash-back offer on the Superbowl Champions, Pittsburgh Steelers to defeat Miami Dolphins this Thursday September 7th.

If the Steelers lose or fail to cover the point spread, MANSION will refund qualified Member individual bets of USD 1,100 (or currency equivalent) - presenting one of the most compelling season launching promotions by a betting company, with no strings attached and no rollover requirement. Naturally, should the reigning Super Bowl Champions beat Miami and cover the spread, MANSION will pay our Members over 5 Million in total winnings.

On paper, everything is there for the Steelers to become the ninth repeat champion in league history (and third in team history), but speculation on their 2006 regular season debut has been heightened, having struggled through a troubling off-season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers Promotion is further proof that MANSION is the home of choice and reward for our Members, and it "pays to belong” to take full advantage of the many best-in-value promotions and offers in sports wagering and first class member services.

MANSION wishes the best of luck to our Members who are participating in this promotion.

But good luck you you guys who were quicket than me.

Guys,

For those who have not Traded these sort of positions before, PLEASE BE CAREFUL. A seemingly small mistake can cost you a fortune.

This thread does worry me guys.

As someone who traded equities, derivatives and dealt with spreads for 15 years and then actually ran hedge fund money, Please take it easy. I fear someone will have taken an unintended position. Hope not.

Miami  will win anyway!

Arghhhhhhhhh

I was too late by a couple of hours.

Wow, looks like I just got in under the wire (1am this morning).  At least I hope so, otherwise I made one hell of a bet compared to usual!

No hedge for me though.  Go Steelers!
