Usually the humans win. But we tend to cheat and bring guns.

Hippos cause more deaths in Africa than any other creature other than the mosquito.
Hippo owns a gator.

maybe so, but you have yet to quote me any convincing World Wildlife Fund statistics on animal table tennis
Gators would mince hippos over the net.

firstly hippo vs gator is to close to call, round by round it would go to the gator points victory, they'd both be tired, the fans would want a rematch but you couldn't split em.
secondly the hippo doesn't want any piece of the gator over a table tennis net and as far as animal participation in sports goes the hippos a disgrace the the bat and ball genre!!!

They did a king of the jungle article in FHM a few years ago...... A kind of knockout structure..... There was one spider that put the lion, tiger and polar bear out for the count. But when it got to the elephant (the tusk variety) (in the final), it couldn't get through its skin and fell of its back and the elephant stamped on it. GAME OVER...... p.s. (the elephant also killed the croc by stamping on it, and the polar bear by stabbing it with its tusks) No more arguements, this was official......

You use the term "comp" in the loosest possible sense of course, the others need not turn up!!!

But I wouldn't want to back an elephant at table tennis or basketball though...I think my perfect ball sports mammal would have to be the cheetah
Anyone want another animal for table tennis over a cheetah?

how can a Koala bear reach those awkward ones 10 feet back from the court?
jump off the yellow pages, waddle back, hit it back, climb up yellow pages?
a cheetah would be way too quick for it

The koala bear is SO skilled that it always has its opponent on the back foot.....there no opportunity for its opponent to make these shots!!!!
really!!! you talk like you've never seen a koala bear play!!
I know this is a contentious issue and may evoke a lot of strong feelings from people but I'm gonna put it out there and see what comes back............
Grizzly bear vs orangutan 501 darts match best of 7 sets!!!!!!!
