thought there'd be more on the forum about the bash but as there was no internet connection I suppose it was unlikely. hopefully a live update from the next one.

how did your BB3 go?

my main memories.

Ironside on the wind up before the doors even opened. stirring it up between me and various members who've had issues with me. all friendly though.

tight first table. DazzaT, matey boy (sorry) Lightbreeze and the Bluffer (misnomer) to my left. further round Karabiner and  Oscar Rana from Notts then Dingdell and teacake to my right. Slow start for me. no cards to work with. managed to win a reasonable sized pot with pocket 3's when I flopped a set. finished the first two levels with the 6k Id paid for. DazzaT made a move on a flush and straight board and Dingdell saw through it and called with pocket 3's. put him on tilt for quite a while. Lightbeeze was picking on any apparent weakness in the blinds. pretty uneventful table though.

about level 4 I got moved tables to 'the ladys table' Mrs Red, Mrs Jammer, Madasahatstand, suzanne, Mel, Jen, Harmony and many more all passed through this table. I managed to accumulate some chips only for me to loose almost everyone to Madasahatstand when I let her 6,6 catch up with my A,A.  (shouldn't have checked the damn flop). I was in all in mode for a while. got back on my feet again and what A,A took, A,A returned. Jen was immediately to my right and Wardonkey (with a few beers in him) to my left. there'd been some clashes over his BB and I was lucky enough to find AA in the SB. Jen raised from the button with 8,8 (she claimed) she expertly got away from the K,Q,J flop but I got the rest of them in the blinds next round when we raced her AK against my JJ. I have to add though that I've never played with Jen live before. She's a nightmare. hell of a player.
I struggled for chips most of the night but in the round before each break I picked up a couple of big pots and always went to the break 1.5 x average.

The table changed texture when Simon Nowab arrived. Nice bloke but talk about earache. "What do you want me to do? call, pass or raise? I'll do what ever you tell me" we'll need to get him a poker book or some lessons before DTD opens if he needs help everytime he faces a raise. Can't complain simon doubled me up a couple of time while knocking other players out with utter filth.

Final was lightning and filled with outdraws. Chippieliecester when out Ak v A10 after hitting a K. the A10 four flushed. but the sickest outdraw of the final was when Lightbreeze raised from the button and Monkey Matt reraised all in from the SB. once the BB and a limper chubbs got out the way Lightbreeze quickly called with K,K. Matt, turning a little red, showed  three diamonds Simon had just suggested that Matt was the only rock at the table. well that put that accusation to bed. flopped the 9, rivered the 3. sick.

I went 5th in the end. I had just doubled up, found  and pushed my remaining 50k in (half average) Simon and Mad both called. Simons AK flopped a King, I picked up a straight draw on the turn but the river card was 1 pip out, giving Simon a third King.

Great game though. well structured and run, genuinely warm applause when players got knocked out. ther was no lack of banter but no needle. Even surpassed the atmosphere at BB1 (I missed BB2 so cant comment) two a year just isn't enough but obviously the organisation involved in these things makes any more than that virtually impossible.

nice to get some cash and a little trophy. the 1st place trophy was beautiful but wasn't to be this time.

thanks to The Blonde team for putting this together, and thanks to all the members for the atmosphere.

anyone else got things to share?

Copied this over from main board....

Tournament was great fun. Unfortunately as I was building a large pile of chips in the first five or six levels I was also building a large pile of empty lager glasses . One of them had to go, and not surprisingly it was the chips that vanished when the Beer Devil ill-advised me to get in a pre-flop raising war with my AQ against AK.

Still, it was a very good night's enterainment, polished off with a good couple of hours playing cash with Thewy, Chile, Tikay, Dingdell, Red etc. Thankfully I had sobered up a bit by then!

Special thanks to all those who helped organise it.

Can I just say an enormous thank you to the organisers and all the Blondes for making us feel so welcome. Fantastic atmosphere and a great bunch of people!

Highlights for me? I guess knocking out the first person (The Nun?) was good, and I only mean that in a poker sense. It was a critical hand so early and close to tripled me up. I had JJ in the hand, made a standard raise in mid position with no limpers in. Got two callers. Flop comes KQJ with two diamonds (I don't have any diamonds) Guy opposite me raises, I reraise allin due to the number of draws out there. The Nun calls me with AK. turn is a rag and the river is the fourth Jack. Apologies to The Nun.

The Walsall Grosvenor is a cracking casino and the card room very impressive.

Thanks again guys and gals for laying on such a fantastic do. The Poker, drink, food and banter was absolutely top class. You're a credit to the game

Even though I was invited to join last night and had never met anyone (bar one, obviously) before, I was made welcome from the start. Thanks guys (and girls).

My memories... as mentioned before, DingDell making an astounding call with a huge range of board cards present, with only a pair of 3's.  FULL TILT AHEAD!!!  This put me in good sted to come up against Ade Edmonson (Eddie Hitler out of Bottom, to you and me) look-a-like Bluffer (misnomer) to have not one but TWO full houses, one hand after another to take most of my chips.  With a little cunning and one pair of J's I came back after IFM's "let's test the table" raise first hand after he got moved to our table. Top pair against two pair wasn't enough about 30 minutes later and I was out, out but happy as for once, a live game wasn't full of arguements and nasty comments... I'll def be coming to the future events.

Then came the £20 SnG, which was being played more like an online freeroll then a real game with 3 people going out n the first 5 hands.  We had a few 'interesting' rules, like if you raised, you had to SING it! (Karaoke Poker??), 'you raise me up' by that idiot that won x-factor being the main song chosen.

I was chip leader for quite a while after Taffy (?) tried it on a few times, when I noticed my friend and also my ride home, got knocked out the main event so.. as you do!.. I kept betting against the second in chips, with 3 5 off suit hoping he'd get most of my chips, leaving just a few to go all in with next hand (sorry, I didn't catch your name!) All was going to plan until pre-river and we were both all in, the magic ace fell on the river to give me the straight over my op's top pair.  So down to three and the short stack just about gave up and called with anything as he thought (which we later found out wasn't true) that we were paying the top three.  That left me heads up with a young blonde (what else??) woman and yet ANOTHER wonder-card on the river gave me the game, ok, so it wasn't the £1,800 for the main event but at least it was something! lol

I'm sure as I enter more tourneys and get to know more of you, my 'memories' will get more interesting as I'll know names.  I remember loads more from last night but just shouting off funny/interesting hands without putting names to them is a little sad so I'll refrain until next time.

Thanks again for making me welcome and see you all again soon!

This was my 1st ever live tourney and it just couldnt of gone better, The comp was run perfectly and all casino staff were very friendly helpfull,

Making the money in my 1st live event is wonderful and getting KO'd by a rivered royal flush(his   v my   ) is not a bad way to end it Cheesy (win that hand and id be confident to final)

Would like to thank EVERYONE for making me feel at ease and welcomed and was a real pleasure to meet you all,

Like to apologise for my poor display as a late replacement for Actionjack in the heads up comp..

Getting busted by Mrs Red in the main comp was worth it for the look of unadulterated joy on her face!

Had a great time, and it was nice to meet lots of new friends.

One of the funniest things was seeing Indestructables face, when on his opening BB of the Main Event, he re-raises 'ALL IN' to a raise by a blondite (sorry, but i forget your name).  Blondite immediately calls with KK, and Indestrucatble meekly shows A 10.

I thought that both Matt and Madasahatstand both played fantastic poker, (though i wont mention the   three diamonds re-raise Matt).

Well done to all the organisers, for well, organising this.   Excellent job by one and all.

Going back to bed now..... Need sleep..........   zzzzzzzzz

Every second post on this thread has to mention the  three diamonds final table re-raise.

It's a new rule!!
