Hi guys,

Been reading this forum for a while now and decided to join up. I've been playing for a while online and thought that it was time to spread my wings a little. I've noticed the good advice available here so thought i'd take a plunge - any adivce appreciated...

Cash game $2/$5  - $94.31 behind.
Six Handed
Position: UTG 

I raise $22 to go..
Folds to blinds who both flat call...

Flop  comes   

SB checks, BB bets $35 - I flat call with the intention of taking him off the hand on fourth street..SB folds

Turn brings 
BB checks i move all in he calls...
River     my pay day card...or so i thought... he reveals pocket jacks. Gutted, i had built up my bankroll with care and i lose it after i hit the out i needed.

Any advice on where i went wrong and where i can play low levels to re-build my roll - thanks in advance.

no cash game expert - only mtts but one thing i'd notice straight away is even before you sit down.

Your entire bankroll is less than $100 but you sit to play at a $2/$5 n/l game?

Is my play that bad?

Obviously i got the read wrong, but he flat called from the blind, something i wouldn't do with pocket jacks, he never really showed any strength so i figured my all in might take it away...

Can you explain why you made the raise to $22 preflop?
The flop hasn't done anything for you and post flop I would have folded straight away. If you were to make an out and out bluff, representing something then a big raise here would be an option (a risky one) but can't get my head around the flat call.

I had folded quite a few hands in the half hour leading up to this... so the connectors looked good. I decided to play it and 4+* BB raise of $22 looked like a suspicious bet. I thought that i played it like monster. Raise pre-flop, smooth call the flop and all in on the turn...

obviously not.
