The Winner of the Grovsenor Grand Prix 2006 is Zahir 'Zippy' Aslam collecting £44,700 in prize money


Congratulations to Zippy who played incredibly well, had his big hands hold up and was even able to come back from just 39k when the blinds were 5k/10k.

A worthy winner you must agree. And here he is with all chips in the world...

And that is everything. Before I head off home, I'd like to congratulate Zippy, but also all the other finalists who played the game in a great spirit (and were really helpful giving me chip counts). Also thanks to Chilli and Tikay who soldiered through the last two days with me and managed to keep me going too. Also, big thanks to Walsall Grosvenor, Dani, Zack and the rest of the cardroom staff and team who helped us with player listings, an area to work in, and who were always willing to help us out with anything else. Very much appreciated.

I was knocked out of the London Poker Masters by Zippy. At the time I thought he had a great game, very aggressive. Was on his table at the start of the comp and at the end. That's why I put a £25 each way bet on him in this comp. Go Zippy!

Wasn't a % swap Pab. I put £50 on (£25 each way) on Zahir with Blue Square. Was so impressed by his play at the Poker Masters I thought 151/1 was excellent value. ...it was
