That's always the aim, but they often come back with more.

I think Nick Slade has been a little concerned of late that I'm giving him a bad right up and making him look like a lucky git. True, he's had a few hands where he's relied on a suck out, but I'd be the first to say that he's a top notch player, you can't win these comps with a bit of luck and I'm sure he's played some good poker to get this far, his results in the UK speak for himself. As Matt Tyler said a couple of days ago, "Nick is one of the worst players to play against because you never know where you stand with him."

What are his UK results?

I believe he mainly plays in Blackpool, and whilst he's won around 20k this year on the UK festival circuit, I often spot his name at the top of the local comp lists when the results come in. The £20 rebuys, £100 Freezeouts and so on begin to add up after a while, and he seems to win more than his fair share of them. As does Reyaaz Mulla, who is railing Slade from the er... rail with Ash Hussain and Matt Tyler.

Sorry read that and it looks like a dig! I meant it as a serious question.

I know you didnt just worried how some people might have read it.

I played with Nick once in a cash game, i think Ariston you were in it too, during the 6 handed comp in bolton.

It's like a sauna in this press-room and there's rather pungent body odour scent loitering in the air. So, to make myself feel better I'm reading the odd joke in between updates. This one made me giggle:

A salesman is driving toward home in northern Arizona when he sees an Indian thumbing a ride on the side of the road. As the trip had been long and quiet, he stops the car and the Indian gets in.

After a bit of small talk, the Indian notices a brown bag on the front seat. "What's in the bag?," asks the Indian.

"It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my wife," says the salesman.

The Indian is silent for a moment then says, "Good trade."
