ok fair enough i missread the earlier post. If he raised preflop and then led the flop yeh he played it well. I read it as him flat calling the 15k on the flop. I stand corrected and hope the guy does well ( I still like the call however it came about)- If he led at the flop for 15k I love the play and agree with you totally.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

I've asked about 5 players about this hand since play finished and all would call. So it seems I'm in a minority of one in passing.

However, I would definitely fold in this spot.

The reason? Silly hat has called the bet of 15k smooth on the flop out of a stack of approx 40k.

Stuart's raise shows such extreme strength when silly hat is almost dutibound to call even if the original betor passes it almost must be a straight IMO.

And what exactly has silly hat got here?

It is quite possible in my opinion that the trip queens is up against trip kings and a straight. And drawing to one card. Not the way I want to be allin in a comp worth half a mill to the winner.

I was wrong. But I still would definitely pass in this spot.

Oh. And another thing. I didn't flame the guy. I just said I was surprised he called.

So there.

Cheers Tighty. Just in the process of changing flights and hotel booking. I did this 2 years ago and played like a lemon in the final. Hopefully I've learned my lesson.
