If im correct , Celtic face either Madrid or Lyon in the next round.

now if im correct ( correct me if im not ) Lyon will finish 1st in their group regardless of next weeks results.

therfore if we win next week in Denmark we will play Real Madrid in the next phase.

if we send out a reserve team and get beat we will face Lyon

if i had to choose id say we have a better chance of progressing against Lyon than Madrid

maybe Strachan should take this into account when choosing his side next week

ps although i believe we can beat anybody at Parkhead , including Madrid , Barcelona , Milan and the Chelseas

The draw is on 15th December. We won't know who we get till then..

I want Liverpool, Bremen (if they get past Barca) or Real Madrid.

so it is a draw this time and not the old way

ty for keeping me right , obviously would like to face one of the weaker sides

as the old cliche goes , there are no easy games at this stage so we just have to get our heads down and give it our

 best shot whoever we draw

I still can't believe that no one has mentioned the biggest dive of the year in winning the freekick that they scored from.

Jarosik should be shot!!!!

I hate diving full stop, so maybe harsh to single him out- but that was a god damn awful dive

I support Ipswich so no bias towards either team

Not biased, why do you refer to Celtic as "they" then?

The free kick was soft, I dont think the ref even saw it, the crowd got Celtic the decision, still a bit churlish to bring this up considering the work Naka still had to do to score.

Bandits right about the Heinze elbow, penalty & straight red

Also Scholes dives for the free kick that results in the harsh penalty decision, Giggs takes a shocker of a dive at OT in the first game as well for Utds 2nd goal, you could go on all night arguing the toss, fact is Celtic won 1-0 despite playing garbage in the 1st half

I dont think either Celtic or Man Utd(if they actually qualify) will get through the next round but you never know I suppose.
I think Lyon look a decent bet once again for the CL, but as usual they wil lprobably fail to deliver.

You can't really say that until the draw is made IMO, I agree about Lyon they are always a decent outside bet but don't seem to be able to go all the way.

I'd like Arsenal in the next round, we don't lose at home & they struggle at the Emirates, I'd fancy us to turn them over.

95/96 was the last season it was done like this, and this was when there were only 16 teams in the CL proper, i hardly call that recent, einstein

To be fair dans just cracked a joke to start with, last time I checked that was broadly permitted, no need to get personal.

For me a draw would have been the fair result. But one moment of genius stopped a 0-0 banker.
But then Man U got what they deserved for just expecting to cruise through the second half as they had the first. They should have learnt against Southend that anything less than 100% = defeat.

Anyone else think Giggs ran out of steam and should have been subbed before the hour mark?
