Hmmmm.... I certainly never threatened to beat the crap out of him, and I don't know where you got that information from, but I can assure you I never said any such things. I said I would like to see him in Cardiff. An apology or to see if he is not two faced, and would say these things to my face. Which I dont think he would.
apologies for mis-understanding
out of curiosity if he would say those things what would you do?
Why getting so winded up by someone you don't know and don't want to know? I seriously don't give a dam what others who don't know me think of me. At the tbles I am rarerly called names but if there is someone who happens to talk trash I don't even bother to reply. Too old for name calling games.

Comments like "I hope your mother dies of cancer" (which I have seen) deserve a smack in the mouth imho.
They are childish and pathetic so why paying attention to them?
Once someone said to me sth liek that and my reply was thanks, she has in fact cancer .... this shut the moron up for the whole evening.

If he was to say those things to me over a table, BTW I don't think he would, but I would deal with it in another manner. I am not a violent person.
I dont let it bother me, but when something can be done about it, i.e. asking him to explain his behavoiur and comments to my face, and when any chance arises, people like this should be challenged to make them think of the consequences of the actions.
Or should we just remain ignorant and let people carry on using unacceptable behaviour when they can be brought to account for their actions?

On the 'cancer' topic, i was once sat in a O/8 game on party when a regular abusive player was playing, they came out with "I hope you get cancer" to 1 player after a bad beat, the players replied "I already bad beat cancer just like i bad beat your ass" classic!

It depends when this will lead you...
I personally found ignoring those people on the net is the best, as very quickly they will get bored with their vulgar banter.
13 stones of love? hmmmm:)

Verbal bullying in any form should be taken seriously.
People have been known to take their own lives because of it.
Just because some of us can rise above it doesn't mean everyone is capable of doing so.

Verbal bullying, as you name it, is going to happen anywhere uncouth people lose money to one another. For every muppet who's chat banned, another five spring up. Turn off chat, or individuals' chat (as you can do on some sites, which is great).
I keep it on just so I can tell just how tilty my foul-mouthed tablemates are getting. By the time I was told once in a cash game, "I hope you get hit by a car," I had my fingers firmly crossed the guy would stick around and do the rest of his money. Which he did. If I want a nice chat I'll call a friend.
