poor play with the Aces. you can not complain when you try to be clever and then get caught out.

Blah, why do I bother reading these threads.

Yep, this is a bad beat story, but I don't think he necessarily played it badly. He did get all the chip counts in with his opponent needing to hit a 2 outer. I'd take that any day of the week.

I know you are one of the biggest assets to the board boldie. But i dont believe you've got this one correct.

He bets the flop  he takes a small pot down.

He checks the flop and a Q appears, he is going to take i sizable pot down unless the ridiculous 2 outer somehow appears.

I agree snoops.

I know u might argue that if the Q doesnt come u dnt get any extra money, but it might also encourage ur opponent to have a stab, putting u on AK.

You're right ofcourse that he didn't play it that badly. I was a bit ticked off with the whole bad beat thing the threads are getting on my nerves a bit.

I do think however that slowplaying Aces on this flop (with a decent pot already build up pre-flop) is inviting trouble. There was no way to know that the other guy had 2 picture cards or something like Ace queen. (Could have had pocket kings and all that and the chips still would have flown in...or even Ace Ten could have made the raise pre-flop)

The problem when getting clever with aces and not betting the flop is that fairly often you can get shafted. In this case he is unlucky ofcourse but he would have had a 2300-600 chip advantage over the other guy and the other guy problably would have called a bet on the flop anyways. (assuming I read this correctly and it's HU)
