That thread really gets to me, it was not a moan - I was c/l at the time and only lost 4k ish down to 10k ish.

I truely found the call funny and thought other people would to. How wrong was I!!

I too found the call hilarious, but in my eyes it was a bad beat sugar coated.

I do not want a rocket up my ass...

Being a relative newcomer I inadvertantly posted one last week ... IMHO you need to allow many Newbies appreciate that BB's happen - it appears that the longer people have played the more they tire from Bad Beat stories. There is a place for them - even the WPT dedicated a two page spread to one (see Oct 2006 issue pages 70-71). It was taken from the final table of the Bay 101 Shooting Star Tournament in San Francisco which was televised

I think you just need to put them in a specific place or insist on BB in the title

just make a child board for the bad beats then those that want to post them can post them, those that want to look at them can look at them and those who do not want to look at them can avoid them much easier. then everyone's happy. no difficult is it?

Well actually, yes, it is. As many folks don't categorize their Posts as Bad Beat stories, they are not gonna put them in the Bad Beat Section, now are they?

If accidentally reading a Bad Beat tale from time to time is the worst that happens, it's hardly a disaster. That's just my view, of course, the other Mods may have differing views. In thsat resp;ect, no, it's not difficult.

Can we have a suck-out child-board as well?

No, the Bad-Beat moaners always forget the suck-outs!

Bad beats are part of poker, some people seem to like to share them (some dont).
Perhaps its good for new players to see them, so they see players dont win every time with Aces,Kings etc.
Surely a Bad Beat child board is the easy solution.

Tikay said "As many folks don't categorize their Posts as Bad Beat stories, they are not gonna put them in the Bad Beat Section, now are they?"

Surely if the board was there they would use it, if it then gets posted in the wrong section a mod can move it.
Other similar forums have the bad beat boards and they seem to get quite alot of traffic.
Either way it doesnt bother me i will read anything.

Too many rules of how to go about posting probably only serves in disuading new members from staying. It promotoes a cliquey atmosphere amongst exisitng users, and makes them appear more and more like computer oddballs.
(That's rich coming from me, an internet wierdo if ever there was one, but there are some amongst us who have not yet completely succumbed to the role of net nerd, and would probably like to look as if they have at least one foot in the real world still.)

So I'm against the idea of having this as a rule.

I find the bad beat posts as annoying as anyone (especially if I'm losing for the day and have seen 20 worse ones before breakfast) so would have no problem if posters wanted to adopt a custom of placing the words B/B in the title of their moan posts. That'd be great....but I wouldn't get in the habit of giving people into trouble for not doing so, just as I wouldn't want to tell someone off for their spelling.

So it all folds round to me in the SB and i look down and seeĀ  , i raise BB moves allin i call, he hasĀ  three diamonds .........................

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I am sick of the proliferation (!) of bad beat stories on here.
They come in many guises, dressed up in many ways but ultimately the same s**t, boring, dull, uninteresting, tedious drivel.
The fact is we all get them, we all will get them, we all hate them and the majority of sane people do not want to hear them.
I have seen them as hand analysis "could i (we, you, anyone) get away from this?", as jokes "i think this is funny", as rants "look was this moron called with", as sympathy seeking "THIS IS SICK" and worst of all as "guess what he had".

The 50p fine isn't working, something needs to be done.

I really do think that it's better to have a bad beat child board (i hate that there are so many boards already) than to have long established members having a pop at people for posting bad beats.
Which is more likely to put new members off?
Told to post in BB's or harrassed for posting one to begin with?
