100% Agree Red Dog - Fantastic stuff - Its going to be a real battle to get a spot for some of the events. Suggest people try and win a seat early and not leave it to the last minute.

Can't wait to see the coverage on Channel 4.

Well done Dan for your showing.

Congratulations to the final table and the winners.

Excellent updates Jen and Snoopy! I read them all in the way back in the car, even though I was at the event itself, as I love the writing style. Some excellent reporting - especially some of the hand descriptions - i.e. Dan Carter 75s vs Joe Beevers AA. Awesome Smiley

Also, massive congratulations to our sponsored pro Dan "Lucky Scrote" Carter (I doubt they'll be using his nickname on the Channel 4 coverage, though it's not worse than any of the stuff Shaft was coming out with....) on his 4th place £28,800 finish. A truly awesome player I think, and one to watch for the future!

Cheers for the updates, top stuff.

Brilliant event again from the GPT team, i would play 50 of these a year if that was possible! They really are great events. Just need to get a result in one now! lol

Stewart i will reserve comment on Shaf, lol. Except to say his best investment might be in lottery tickets.

disgraceful is that is how the chip count is decided imo. If its 3.30 am and 4 or 5 left with one huge chip leader it will slow play down becuase he can just take the maximum time on every decision and blind away slowly to first. That needs to be changed definately.

Complete and utter oversight. The rules should never have stated this. If we had gotten close to this situation I can assure you that we would have 'reserved our right to change the rules for the good of the game.' I would NEVER have allowed the prizes to have been decided in this way.

We have a rules committee meeting in a couple of weeks time and this and several other issues will be addressed then.

Well done JR. Tinker by all means (I liked Dave Penly's take on Ante sizes), & yes, change that thing you mentioned, but generally, leave well alone. You have given birth to a stunningly successful series, don't be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Whatever you do you'll get criticised, it's impossible to please Rocks & LAG's equally, but you have got it just about spot-on.

Please can someone tell me that the 100-1 for "no deal" was a joke post! I tried to get £250 on at 100-1, but was told by the Blue Square guys that they would never run a bet like that, as it would be undermining Grosvenor's policy of not recognising deals.

Infact, having written that, it's obvious it was a spoof post. Doh.  Who would offer 100-1 for "no deal". They wouldn't would they....., right?

Ladies and gentlemen, will you please put your hands together and join me in thanking Blue Sq for this amazing concept. A 4 day event with added money and a televised final table gives everyone something extra to play for, and online satellites give everyone a chance to play.

Thanks also to everyone at Grosvenor Walsall for all their hard work in hosting this superb event, Grosvenor casino's have been he life-blood of poker in the UK for many years, where would we be without them?

Last but not least, let's hear it for the blonde updaters. Come on guys, be honest, how good was that? We are all so privileged to have such dedicated, talented people bringing the big games to our small screens. Very well done

spot on Tom what a superb series of tourneys these are, hats off to Jon and the updates have been superb too, real quailty everywhere in this event.

I didn't ring up. I was there and asked John Rabb if he'd take the bet off me. Even more embarrasing lol

Yep Don't muck around with it too much this is already fantastic....

Maybe some secret bounties would be good on the Blue Sq pros or something like that - you have a great event.
