I'd back HD against Blu Ray, cheaper, and like VHS over Betamax, it's the choice of the porn industry. Wink

Blu-Ray is the better disc - faster and more data, its also backed by more film distributors - a major factor in sales, plus the PS3 is going to put a blu-ray player in millions of homes very early in the battle when most consumers havn't picked a player yet.

You'd also be betting against the royalty holder on the CDROM Smiley

PS3 has pretty much flopped in japan and usa... might be a slow start but it's getting pwned pretty hard by its rivals just now.
They do expect it to be a bigger hit in the UK though but at £500 for console, HDMI cable and a game, in march, who knows.

stick to hddvd yes most of the film companies are backing blue ray but when that flops do you think they wont jump on the band wagon and go the hddvd route. Blue ray is sony once again trying to make there own format and take control which wont happen.

well they are not actually putting them in millions of homes they are charging over 500 quid. Xbox pwns ps3. The ps3 unit is actually being made at a loss where as the 360 is still operating at its first ever launch price and im sure they have a small prece drop up there sleeves.

Dubai I recently got a HD DVD player and there is a noticable increase in quality, even playing normal DVD's it upscales them to near HD quality.
