You are given the choice:

winning the main event at the world series, but EVERY cent goes to charity, but you get to keep the bracelet. (90% of any spin off money goes to charity also)

Finishing 2nd and KEEPING the money.

What is your decision?

"So how much money did you in the World Series, Dad?"
"Shut up son, and keep polishing those bracelets!"

Cash please, no publicity, no deals.

i win it but i take 50% 'management' fee's for the chairity of my choice......lol

its difficult. although id love to say id give all the cash to charity, its not what id do. id take the money and give some away Smiley if however, i was made of money, the bracelet would be more important and the charity could have it all.....

I would take 2nd,  the WSOP would be a nice event to win, but to be honest I would be more than happy just being an unknown cash game player who earned a decent living each year than a superstar.  I need to work on beating the $0.15/0.25 NL games before that will ever happen though  Cheesy

To be honest I would take first and the bracelet as I would make up for the lost money through endorsements, appearance fees, etc

I would want to win, not for the glory, but personal accomplishment.

The money would come in other ways.

Money comes and goes and doesn't mean anything to me......LOL

Cmon, we're talking what, like $7.5m or similar? You'd have to go some for that to come and go....

Unless you're seriously sick, that amount sets you (and your family) up for life

Agreed, id rather be famous for something good for humanity as a whole than being a poker champ and having the next generation of Hellmuth's looking up to me as an idol. Ship the money and second prize, you can do a lot more for charities etc when uv invested wisely and taken over the world with your billions.............................

On a tangent........at the same time id probabaly do something extremely odd to gaurantee some extra cash from interviews, like get naked or swear a lot.

I think the question would be more appropriate if you said that the second place finish was behind closed doors and that no1 knew about it, as coming second on that stage with all the cameras still gets you a lot of glory.
