Does it strike anyone else as strange to start off the World Series with a Limit/No Limit Round of Each $5,000 Freezeout?

Why would they go with this one?

Strange?? Have you seen the cards they were playing with?

Yuk, not my cup of tea.

Anyhow, a news item on this event and the start of the World Series as a whole can be found here...

If you look closer, you'll see that the numbers are still in the corners.

The numbers in the corners are put there diagonally and are really hard to make out. Good news is they have ditched the cards already and are now using some very nice easy to see cards, and those monstrosities will never be seen again!

Good grief man, no wonder they were complaining. You have to pick them almost up to look at them.

Please tell me that this is not specifically for the "hole-card camera"

Update Announcement:

blondepoker will be live updating a selection of events direct from the Rio Poker Factory!

Here are the key ones to watch, where we'll be attempting to keep up with real-time requests on players and generally trying to bring you the news live as it happens:

Sun 24th of June - 28th June    $50,000 H.O.R.S.E
Thurs 28th June - 30th June      $5,000 NLH 6-handed f/o
Sun 1st July - 2nd July               $10,000 PLO Championship
Fri 6th July - 12th/17th July       $10,000 NLH Main Event

Due to the probable restrictions on access during later stages at this most enormous of enormous events, blonde will in all probability only cover the first five days of the event via the medium of live updates.  The real time hunt-through-the-3000-players will be a challenging but enjoyable immersion in this event, and we'll try to find the blondeite and UK needles in the haystack and bring you all the exciting news from their progress.  After this date, we'll be posting regular diaries and summaries of the days' play, with interviews with those blondes still in etc.

Good luck everyone making the trip!

FAO Snoopy, Jen, Floopy Tikay etc...

You can probably check with Pauly on this one - as i'm guessing he's helping pokernews out?? - but I was reading a post on P5s earlier from one of their live updaters and it says:

"Bluff/Pokernews.com bought the rights for the live coverage of the WSOP from Harrah's.  Under their guidelines, we're allowed to do hourly blogs but no hand for hand coverage or take photos after there are less than 15 tables left.. etc. etc.."
-----------------------------------------
No whilst the 15 table rule is the same as last year, if hourly blogs are all that are allowed...

I'm not sure if this applies to all media and how it affects blonde's live coverage, but thought i'd throw it out there.

I can't get hold of them until a day or two after, but winning player images are now up to accompany the results to Events #1 and 2.

So, if you wanna see what a rich kid looks like...

The results for Event 3, the $1,500 No Limit Hold'Em Freezeout, which, incidentally, became the third (I think) biggest live event in history, are now up. Simply click the link below...

I know I run the risk of being castrated for being immature, but if you don't find the name of the player in 216th position at least slightly amusing, then you need a sense of humour bypass.

doesn't he own a chocolate factory.

this is quite interesting if you haven't read it. basically according to american law it would seem that you can legally copy chipcounts from other websites.
