I wonder what the players would/will make of the appointment?

Which one?

Hodgson.

In a recent poll on The Echo (the Liverpool FC bible of rumours) Hodgson received 8% of the vote for who we wanted to be our next manager. It was a very realistic list too.

Who were the top 3 out of interest?

I reckon Dalglish would have been a favourite.

When you call it the bible of rumours is that because it's full of unsubstantiated stories that aren't backed up by any third-party evidence?

off the top of my head dalglish, pellegrini, hiddink

Lol fair one. Tony Barrett is bang on though. Even the players are known to listen to his gossip.

Hodgson is a done deal -according to BBC Sport...all over in 48hrs.

Gerrard / Torres inspired by that appointment?
All we could afford?
Did the fact the he is a manager not known for his Transfer buys....so not demanding for funds!?

......or do we like his record in the Europa Cup!!... Roll Eyes

Any quotes at all confirming the rumour on the BBC?  No, it's just all rumour.

True, but no smoke with out fire and all that?  You never get any quoted statements until its a done deal...it is always "I'm happy where I am ".." i haven't talked to anyone." etc.

It appears Hodgson is a done deal. It's not terrible for us at this time but just shows how out of touch the owners are.

Hodgson is a good manager but if I was a Liverpool fan(or player for that matter) i'd be worried about what an appointment of this nature indicates for the coming season,if indeed he is to get the job.
