I am from Meseyside, however that i crtisize LFC does not make EFC much better. What these two teams have forgotton is the grass roots, were they originated etc, and altho now world wide names and brands(more so in LFC's case), those at the top of both clubs took their local residents/neighbours for granted. EFC have tried in the last 12 months to get back that community feeling, but LFC are far behind. And IMO the reason both clubs lost that communication was the loss of the Moore family contact at both clubs.
This family were rocks to both clubs, and even after old jm died his legacy was still with EFC. The onset of the premier league came and gradually they lost touch.
Now football supporters from many clubs will know what their club do for their local community, apart from a visit to the local kids hospital at xmas, yes there are individual support groups like the Jamie Carra foundation, but not enough is done under the club flag.
Now people go on here about LFC, its all quick fix stuff imo. You have just got a manager that will develop a team that can once again challange, but the debt is overwhelming and if a buyer is not found the only way to raise cash will be the stock market, but for that to happen you need a solid base(circle). Give him time and he will get the best out of whats available, it may not be pretty but it will be effective. The rumour is he has 0 as a budget, but whatever he sells he can spend, and the top sales are javi, torres, sg, carra, yossi, 3 out of 5 wont be playing for LFC before the end of the transfer window.imo, SG is not happy, i know that for a fact, cant say y on here i will get hung.
From a trading point,,cant wait until the full markets come on BF for the prem, dont let your heart rule your head.

Some of those houses have been boarded up for 10 years+.
Like I said, I don't see anything related to the proposed new stadium in what you've said other than the youth club. Yes, a new community sports centre was planned to be built - within the grounds of the new stadium - so obviously that hasn't been done. You haven't mentioned the work done on restoring the sports centre at Lower Breck at all though - which was done to allow all the activities that took place at Vernon Sangster to continue whilst the stadium was being built.
Of course the delays in building the stadium have meant that some promises haven't come to fruition - the main one being the stadium itself! Don't you think that's why the new owners are held in such 'esteem' by the fans and by many involved with the club?
As for Stevie G's private life - is it the same old rumours again? Or is it something new?

How much would Liverpool get for Carra? Not a great deal imo. He's worth far more to Liverpool than he is to other clubs.
Mascherano is probably off, and we know Yossi is going to Chelsea. So you're suggesting that either Stevie or Torres is off - maybe that's the case, but like I've said - I don't see Torres leaving this summer (but I could be wrong). As for Stevie, I really don't know what to think. Wouldn't want to bet either way.

Oh, and good luck Roy Hodgson.
A manager in the 'Liverpool' mould imo. We could have done a lot worse. Now all we need are new owners and then he can buy some players!

I really get the feeling Stevie will dissapoint if he goes abroad, and he knows it. Neither Real or Barca (the only two massive clubs he is linked with occasionally) really seem that keen on taking him anyways...so the only place he can move to is another club in england. That only leaves Man City, no?..either City or he's staying put.

I hope you're right (and actually agree with the Welsh hippy midget for once). The only other place would be to Inter to join up with Rafa again, and I can't see that happening either.

10 years ago, walton breck road was a thriving local community, the moves have ONLY TAKEN PLACE IN THE LAST 4, YES 4 YEARS,,when the yanks done the deal with the council. My mother was one of the losers in the broken promises.
NONE OF THOSE HOUSES WERE BOARDED UP 10 YEARS AGO fact fact fact,,and now its like a shanti town in SA.
As for BRECKSIDE PARK to which you are reffering to which has been there as long as the Vernon was,, the money that was spent on that refurbish came from the 08 budget, european union, NOT LFC, NOT LC COUNCIL.
The vernon sanster was used by over 2000 people a week, have LFC tried to make up for that, no.

...and you only have to put FACT once at the end of your post on here to make it incontrovertible truth.

Appologies for the over statement.
Did you also know that LFC have been told they are not welcome at the majority of junior leagues run in Liverpool with regards to scouting, they can only scout at school matches or invite schools to Kirkby, as far as i know EFC, Wigan, Bolton, Tranmere, Manchester have a presence, in fact most of the north west teams now have satalite training establishments in Liverpool. Respected in the community, draw your own conclusions.

I can't see why you'd think Real wouldn't want him when Jose has always been a big fan of him and was so close to getting him at Chelsea that'll probably make him want him more,Gerrard leaves and Torres will leave to imo.I could be wrong but Torres doesn't seem as bad as many other players when it comes to being motivated by money so I doubt he'd go to City, this would also be the worst time possible for you to sell him when he's had his worst season by far and is having a mare at the World Cup.

No problem, there's a running joke on here about putting FACT at the end of a post.

I'm sure there are examples of things that could be listed to paint LFC in a good light as well.
But anyway, new era starts today. Liverpool's 18th manager and a new shirt sponsor!

It will improve both on and off the pitch, just be patient. It may get worse before it gets better, and i'm with you Liverpool should be seen in every quater final of the Champions, top 3 League, but at a crucial time when teams have momentum, they are standing still. And whilst the yanks are there LCC wont budge.
To change tact totally,,can i mention another poker site that is running a wsop package tonight with a massive overound?

Whilst the Yanks own the club, standing still will be a positive thing (as long as last season was an anomaly). If they don't go, then there's no way we can hope to compete on all fronts against the spending might of the other top 6-7. We'd have to settle for the odd challenge at the Premiership (like 2 years ago), and a good cup run every now and again.
