The whole side sat far too deep in the first half. No pressure at all on the united midfield and defence.
Second half, Sturridge was introduced and one of the misfiring midfielders taken off. What a difference, but it wasn't a surprise, it was pretty obvious really.
Rodgers got it very wrong to start with,and by the time he'd fixed it,it was already far too late.

If the two chances that fell to Sturridge had fallen to Suarez it could have been different. Have to say, Suarez stayed on his feet in that tangle with Rafael where he might have been expected to tumble. Well played sir. |
